...I come in this morning to find an email from one of our joint CEO's in Europe. It states that we have identified "potential partners" for the VoIP line of business (read acquisition or merger) and a deal should be complete by the June-July timeframe. Seeing as I just moved into the new Channel Sales Division as a sales engineer - this sucks. I am in the safest division there is, however given the list of companies that are rumored to be "partnering" with us......I am not at all comfortable I will be employed come July. Man, things were looking good too. I am rumored to be receiving a pay increase, a larger compensation package, and additional benefits that come with working with channel partners. So, anyone need a hard working sales engineer or account manager type with voice, data, and all sorts of other experience?
I was kidding. Small towns are beginning to grow fairly quickly, and the demand is increasing. My wife and I are looking into moving to a small town in the middle of nowhere, with the setting right between the Appalachians and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cost of living is way cheaper, so hopefully I can find a good job.
