I actually haven't listened to sports talk radio in a long time now. Are these stations still going? What the hell do they talk about for hours at a time during the day with so little happening in the sports world?
Isn't this how it always goes for this guy? Everything is rainbows and unicorns when he first starts......until he does something stupid to torpedo his entire career and gets sacked, throws his former employer under the bus and moves on. Rinse, lather, repeat. It does seem like his career path is going in the wrong direction. Most people start out as unpaid interns and consistently move UP in salary. Not the other way around....
This is the guy who has a voice actor uncle who did shaggy on Scooby-Doo remakes and video games. Josh would keep inappropriately pushing him on the show. The worst instance of it was during a frank caliendo interview, when Josh insists on putting his uncle on the phone with frank (caliendo was also a phone guest making it worse). You know how caliendo works, seemingly stream of consciousness jumping in and out of characters with little to no prompting from host needed. Hey pause all that Frank, here's my uncle on the line you can mix it up with. He's also a pro, so this should be good (Go!) Ofc frank immediately shut down. "Nice to meet your uncle, but Idk what you expect me to do here." "Oh man I'd love to go head to head with him"
Josh Innes a great example of what's wrong with society today, imo. He represents the worst of humanity. I don't really blame him. He's just a product of where we are at. Say outrageous things to get folks stirred up and that's great for ratings. Then keep saying even more outrageous things to hold the attention. The challenge is how to not go too far all at once. You gotta walk that line and stay just one inch over it. Innes does a poor job of walking that line. This effect shows up in politics, bigly. One bit he had that I actually found very interesting were his social experiments where he'd tell you in advance that he's about to make up some hot take that he doesn't actually believe. I think his first one was that David Robinson is better than Hakeem. Two segments later he launched his monologue describing the ways that Robinson was hands down the better player. Then the callers called in laying the riot act and telling him how much of an idiot he is since Hakeem is clearly the better player. Or you had Spurs fan praising him. Listeners fell for it every time. every time. Such outrage mongers only exist because of the so many of us have strong biased opinions, no critical thinking, and a short attention span. The media has hacked our brains.
