MDA will turn Zion into the best center in the league.

    Good for him and them.

MDA is a better version of Gentry.

If the Rockets and MDA part ways (high chance), then TF needs to spend the money to bring in Gentry as associate head coach to run the offense. He is well versed with his mentor MDA and designed the offense in Golden State that Kerr tried to take credit for.

Nets are interested in making a run for Popovich. Im sure if MDA leaves, this would be an interesting spot for Pop, considering he loves Hardens game.

I dont know if this is a joke or not but ,in the current NBA climate, Zion absolutely should be a Center.

Why are we looking to part ways with Mike again? What experience coach would want to run this system? Or would be committed to it?

I would be very surprised if Pop leaves. Everyone in that organization was hand picked by Pop.... I would be very excited about Pop on the Rockets, but it is not happening.

We are far more likely to have Will Hardy from the Spurs be our next coach.

The Rockets head coaching vacancy would be extremely appealing to coaches. The issue will be whether TF will spend the money for a top head coach AND assistants and will spend to add marginally to the team.

Right now there is no shortage of strong candidates out there. Lue, Atkinson, Fizdale, Hollins and Gentry are experienced candidates.... Silas, Hardy, Duncan, Pannone and Erman all are likely good candidates with less experience...

There are a lot of good candidates now.

We haven't even started the playoffs and you guys are trying to fire our coach? That seems counterproductive to me, probably to the team too... the coaching staff.. management.. but sure... your opinions are bigger than the team. Right?

Atkinson and Erman combo only thing that sounds remotely interesting.

But I still rather stick with D'Antoni.

MDA has been a great coach, I just question his ability to win a championship.

He's had as good a shot as any with that roster loaded w/ Harden, CP, Luc, EG, Ariza, Tuck, Capela...

Anyone can say that the players are the ones who have to go out on the court and win it. But you've got entire seasons going into this team to set it up for a championship run, and MDA's game plan hasn't worked out completely yet.

With the heavy reliance on the 3-pt shot, lack of a defensive mentality, the holes have been there for other teams to exploit.

We're all in the dark on a lot of the decision points. It looks like to me that Morey plays a central role on all of this, and maybe we misplace the blame on either side of MDA/Morey. I guess we'll find out once the MDA/Morey era comes to a close... But with the move to get Harden alone, Morey gets a pass from me.

Say what you want, I don't think MDA will ever get to work with a talent like Harden ever again. I honestly don't care where MDA goes, I'm confident in my prediction that he will continue to fail to win a championship. The only chance he has to win a chip is waiting for the great coaches/GMs of the era to retire.

That would be interesting if Pop ever thought of going to Houston.
I see that he would go somewhere farther for a change of scenery.

6'6 injury prone franchise player should go ahead and bang with 7'1 dudes like Jokic and big bulky guys like Embiid full time. That is def a great idea and wouldnt lead to a much shortened career at all.

MDA is perfect if you want to have an exciting season and win lots of regular season games. He did it in Phx and he did it in Houston, he prob couldve done it as well ij NYC if he didnt have trash in his team. MDA would be a good fit for a no of teams who wanna make noise and be relevant incl the Hawks.

Playoffs are always another matter though, MDA will always get out coached by the best coaches so you cant ask him to be the coach of a champ team. This 5 man out isnt that revolutionary tbh, Milwaukee already did it last year we just didnt notice cuz Brook Lopez is 7 ft tall instead of 6'6.

I'd like to see MDA stay but its a fact that his contract expires after this season and the two sides were at an impasse the last time they were negotiating. It takes two to tango .... and Tilman didn't want to pay the man compared to his peers and that after reaching the WCF and being a CP3 hamstring away from winning it all.
Typical Tilman , just like all the tax ducking moves he's forced on Morey since he became the owner , all while telling us he'll pay the tax to win .... yet doesn't spend the MLE two years in a row and throws away first round picks in consecutive seasons to do the same as well as not taking advantage of players bird rights to create assets , rather letting them walk for nothing and replacing them with veteran minimum players - in back to back seasons.

My prediction is that MDA is gone and replaced by some guy making chump change in comparison. That based upon the history of Tilman.
