I understand what you are saying but Americans, especially those in families with long standing military legacy, make it a point of pride of fighting the good fight vs. Fascism.

Fascism as an institution certainly exists in democracies like the US I have no delusions about this. This is why these dialogs about social injustice are so important.

But the sacrifices made by brave men and women in the US military to protect our way of life have given Americans who served as well as those that did not serve the opportunity to effect these changes in a lawful manner.

I apologize for getting my feathers ruffled in my initial response but I'm just protective of family and friends who have lost loved ones, limbs and/or peace of mind.

I get it's a point of pride, but it really shouldn't be imo. It's not unique. They do far more important things than fighting some vague thing called fascists. They do actual work.

Anyway, this is a D&D discussion.

WOJ is far more valuable than a photographer who is easily replaceable.....you have to KNOW your place in the scheme of things before you mouth off.

Just as Morey held on after the Chinese comments.

Some people's skillsets are more valuable than others.

The guy did not call Harris a ***. And Woj did not just say "you are a dumbass." He used the f-word in company email.

If the photographer posted a picture of Harris and say F- you, would he get fired?

I understand the reality. I just think there is a ton of hypocrisy here depending one's political position. You are viewed as a hero if the outlandish thing you say happens to be against people's political enemy. You get flamed if the outlandish thing is against people's beloved political side.

there are fundamentally differences between Woj’s response than his posted image.

    Woj wrote: Fxxx You.

while it is a profanity but it is a direct response to the points of another human beings opinions.

what he did is a direct attack on a person’s characteristics and privacy - even is her personal life will be such, and if not, then he is legally responsible to be punished also.

there are strong reasons for the NBA or Rockets to take actions to remove him but if ESPN will fire a guy who tweeted FU on social media, I don’t think the lawsuit will be favor ESPN at all.

And for those whom believe that this some how violated a persons first amendment right or conservatives people being punished by radical leftist that kind of crap, you are also fxxking idiots.

Adam Clanton, whose also working for the Rockets, has been openly supported and liked many gun rights tweets and conservatives and attacked the lefts for years. He did not get fired because of such.

because he is smart enough and know what the bottom line is and you should not cross it.

F u is pretty nerfed in our normal circles but it might not be in those formal ones.

They make a fuss about the slightest non political correct trivialities. Maybe they should.

I can see the difference. What you don't seem to see is that both are unacceptably insulting words as a professional. Do you think if a journalist said "F U" in a press conference to a politician wouldn't be fired?

Woj's act in a way is more damaging because he is responding as a professional representing the company. The photography posted it with his personal account on FB. I am not defending the guy. I think he was dumb to do that and deserved to be fired. What I am saying is that a lot of people defended Woj, even treated him as a hero, simply because they agreed with saying F U to that particular politician. This is the hypocrisy I am talking about.
