I believe the Kandiman is going to have a break through season next year.Mike showed great flashes in the three defeats they handed us last year.Although he was starting he was only putting up 8pts and 5 reb. Those are around the same # as Cato had coming off the bench.I think it would be a good trade even if we have to throw in a 1st rounder(salary reasons)to sweeten the deal.He could work with Dream (his idol) and we would unload Cato lazii a$$.The Clipps are shopping him.

drpepper, I agree. Kandiman would be a much better player than our lazy-ass cato clown.

I would love Olowokandi (sp?) in Houston too, but there is zero chance that Donald Sterling would commit to Cato's contract in my opinion.

Wait a minute. You'd rather have a starting player put up 8-5 than a bench player?

I think the idea is for us to keep Dream and he could tutor 'Kandi, who would come off the bench for Hakeem.

First of all, if we trade for Kandiman and then resign Dream Kandi can stil come off the bench or play PF. Even without Dream, with Cat, Franchise, and our new SF filling it up, I would rather have my starting center average 8/5 because that 8/5 comes without Cato's cancerous attitude! Addition by subtraction!! Go get Kandi, Raef, somebody besides Cato, PLEASE.

Haywood plays a little like Kandiman. If you want CANDYMANS twin brother then tell rudy to draft Brenda.

If you want Kandi so bad why not wait until next season when the Clippers lose their annual former top pick?

What the hell were the Clips thinking? Passed up Bibby, Jamison, LaFrentz, Vince and others to draft Kandi. Sad thing is that everyone here knew he would suck, hell everyone in the country could tell you that.

What does Ololokandi's contract look like?

If it is slimmer and/or shorter than Cato's, I would certainly advocate the trade.

Kandi is still on his rookie contract so it is both a small and a shorter cap burden. And because he hasn't been in the league quite as long as Cato, people can still talk about his 'potential' more convincingly than they can about Cato's.

It'd be worth it to trade for Kandi and let him walk when he contract expires. It'd also be worth it to sign him to a (less expensive) long-term deal: someone has to play center.

I think Kandi can actually be good. He hasn't panned out so far, but he's playing for the Clippers. Nobody elevates to their best game for the Clips. On another team, he might actually learn something.

That would be a great trade for us, but why would the Clippers do it? I know that they are notorious for stupid moves, but who is that stupid? If they trade the Kandiman, then they are just admitting that they had no business picking him 1st. If they keep him then they can still say that he has an "upside". Meanwhile Cato needs a good punch "upside" his head to get his butt in gear.

    Great point vj23k.

Let us remember, after Jamison's rookie year, everyone was laughing at GS for trading Vince for Jamison, slapping him with the 'BUST' label. And now, everyone wants to have his baby.

The Clippers thought Kandi would work out and took a chance on him. It hasn't worked out, but I think that has more to do with the Clips than Kandi.

I would definitely make a deal for Kandi. I think he has a lot of tools to work with (more than Cato has, he's bigger and more athletic) and can develop into a good NBA C (remember who he plays for, the antithesis of 'coaching', 'teaching', and 'player development'). In fact, Kandi had supposedly improved quite a bit when the Clips hired Jabbar as a tutor of sorts. All he needs is some coaching and mentoring, and at this stage in his career he would probably be better off backing up Dream than starting in LA.
