Media should not be allowed to vote for MVP or any performance awards in sports. There is too much regional bias and vindictiveness.
Harden is too smart for this stupid analyst. So much hate, smh. I totally agree with you. There is no need for the media to vote at all.
There's nothing wrong with the second take. But yeah, he definitely has a problem with Harden and he definitely has a crush on Doncic. There will always be bias until the robots take over and decide these things for us.
White man from Boston area has a hard on for white skinned athletes... I am not surprised. He's the "Boston Sports Guy," of course he loves Bird. Dude has had biased takes his whole career.
a cheap assist? Oh **** off you dumb cunt. you kno he picked the rockets to win the championship last year? Now he hates the rockets. I never really cared but this right here really grinds my gears. WTF does that even mean? Is this taken out of context or something? I mean I don't listen to his boring ass podcast anyways but c'mon, this is just pure hate!
awards from from all-nba, all star selections, player of the month, player of the week. should be computer generated. Take the human element out, thats how bad its gotten in the NBA harden averaged 47 of 78% ts one week and lost player of the week to carmelo anthony. This is unacceptable, the media tries to deny harden from as many awards and accolades so when both he and curry retire they can appear closer in terms of output than what is shown, they will not put harden on all defensive team if curry doesnt make one first. They also will never allow harden to tie curry in mvps
Luka is tied with Joe Ingles in rpm, luka maybe elite in the future. But right now he is a bit overhyped
I think he's just trolling Rockets fans at this point. Harden is a very good passer (with his strong hand). I'd put Doncic in a tier above as far as passing goes, with players like Jokic and CP3.
To be fair, he continues to point out the farce that Westbrook won the MVP over Harden that year. When the comparisons involve teams or players that he is not overly biased towards, he can be level-headed and actually crunch the numbers. Also, unlike a lot of talking heads, he does actually watch these games... but he too often will get hung up on one stance (for instance, Doncic should have been the #1 overall pick) and simply get tunnel vision when there are occurrences that support that view. He's also been very vocal against the Astros in their cheating scandal... but when it came to Boston being a two-time offender for what was possibly an even worse mis-application of technology (and still benefitting via winning a WS), he's completely mum.
Then the debate just shifts to what the formulas should be and what should factor into them -- to anyone who's nerdy enough to argue about it, the rest will just ignore and come up with their own lists.
Wth are cheap assists? Luka had 1 between the legs assist, and fanboys like Simmons wet their panties. Meanwhile, Harden has made that same play countless times and it hardly gets a mention.
men lie, women lie, numbers never lie we have a bunch of advanced stats out now that are used to determine the best players. we can use rpm, raptor, bpm, win shares/48 and a bunch of others. We need to use them, because its obvious the media doesnt
Im assuming "cheap assists" just means "black guy" assists. See Luka is different because he's craft and smart and white.
I listened to the podcast. It’s not even remotely as bad as the tweets here are making it out to be. He and Russillo even stopped and said something along the lines of .....”let’s get this straight Harden is a great, great passer. One of the best in the NBA, but there are some guys who you can just tell see things a little further ahead....” Now whether you agree with that or not is different, but they both clearly have a ton of respect for Harden as a passer but believe Luka and some others are better. AND the main topic was is Luka the next Bird? and Russillo early on stopped and said the comp is easy. He’s James Harden.
