All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 8-7 Zack Greinke (R) vs. Chris Bassitt (R) 8:10 8-8 Framber Valdez (L) vs. Frankie Montas (R) 3:10 8-9 Cristian Javier (R) vs. Jesus Luzardo (L) 3:10
So how does this work? Are we supposed to throw at their batters because Fiers pitches for them or because their bench coach made a Nazi gesture?
Outfielder Chas McCormick got added to the Astros’ taxi squad along with Mike Papierski, Bryan Abreu and Jack Mayfield. The team needed another outfielder given George Springer’s uncertainty. This was done to make room in the Astros’ 60-man player pool for Chase De Jong, whose minor league contract is now official. De Jong is with the team in Oakland as part of the taxi squad.
I think so too. I haven't been keeping up much with Oakland, but I'm surprised they're 9-4. Crazy. Normally that wouldn't be any cause for concern except for the fact that we play like a 5 game season this year. We'll see how this series goes. Are we supposed to hear back next week in some form on JV?
Is Maldy going to catch everyday? Hopefully 'Tuve and Bregs can build on the Arizona series. Could use some crooked numbers.
Let's go!....... This bullpen though.... Really would be surprised if we are swept it if we sweep. No idea what the identity of this current team is...
There are other teams thought to be in contention for this year off to bad starts worse than ours. Tampa Bay 5-7 Washington 4-5 Houston 6-6 I dont think the Astros, Rays and Nationals all miss the playoffs and or get knocked off in the first round. There is still time for one or more of these teams to get it together. That said, it wont necessarily be the Astros.
Big series for both teams. The two most talented teams in the AL West. Top of both rotations. Make or break IMO. Yes, it's early, and there's an expanded playoff, but dropping this series will significantly hurt.
I see your point, but the Nationals ain't contending anymore since Rendon left. Tampa to me was always a pretender for the WS. Sure they can make the playoffs, but they won't win.
