I’m convinced Pressley is hurt despite what Baker is saying. He couldn’t have been more awful last night. Blowing games like that is so freaking nauseating. We can’t get Alvarez and Urquidy back soon enough.
Unfortunately a “quality start” is at least 6IP though. So by that definition I would say that is pretty optimistic. We can get solid games out of them to be sure, and we’ll need to.
Even more frustrating is that Baker seems tone deaf when it comes to injuries. First Osuna wasn’t ready to play and was throwing long toss until like 3 days before the season. Then he’s pitching game 2 of the season. Then he’s tearing his UCL. I’m not going to be that guy that blames all our injuries on him, but I would say he at the very least shoulders some of the blame.
I don't know why they keep hiding Forrest Whitley. They need to start playing the kids, or we would be starting from scratch again. The Stros aren't getting any younger, they need to mesh the young with the old.
Whitley has a sore elbow and after seeing Osuna blowout his elbow and Pressley being ineffective. I hope they let him get healthy then bring him back.
I don’t know if it’s the sign-stealing scandal or the lack of fans or the major injuries or the inexperienced bullpen... But this team is not fun to watch. I know Dusty Baker got put in a precarious situation, but damn I feel like AJ Hinch would have handled this situation way better. Got damn Mike Fiers!!!
The Astros transferred Austin Pruitt to the 60-day injured list, according to the league transaction wire. Pruitt (elbow) had been shut down last week. Putting him on the 60-day IL means he doesn’t count against the 40-man roster.
Had two strikes on 3 of the 4 ABs in the 9th and couldn't put them away to seal the win. Something he was very good at in '19 before the knee injury.
