I tuned in at 9:15 on my drive into work and caught the aftermath of some fight between Rob Ryan and Pam. I guess Pam left the studio pissed and talking about lawyering up. Rob kept taking phone calls from listeners calling Pam a b**** and such. Management warned him to shut up and play music, but Rob Ryan kept taking calls. Eventually he got pulled off the air. Is this some elabrote April Fool's Day joke? What was the fight about? Anyone hear it?
That **** was exactly what I did not want to hear this morning. I wanted to listen to some jams, but they just kept arguing. Curse you the Buzz.
As I stated before (God I hope some Clear Channel dork reads this board) I quit listening to the Buzz when they stopped playing new alternative and instead they turned to 104.1. Hey Ya?! Just start playing Hillary Duff and get it over with! Firing Steve and Jeff was the final straw. Now Walton and Johnson are catching a load of crap for saying that some product or service sucked and Clear Channel is threatening to pull them off the air. My one wish is to bring Air America to Houston so that I don't have to listen to any of this crap in the morning.
It had to be April fools. But it was the most annoyng thing in the world. Those people and that radio station SUCKS! But I am forced to listen to it at work. God I hate them. I want to find that DJ and smack him like a little lizard. The damn skit went on and on and on....It was pure hell.
I say this with all sincerity: f$%$ clear channel! Anything associated with clear channel becomes a mass-marketed w**** for the pop top 40 and some fat record executive with his army of wannabe pop-music clones. I hate clearchannel. They ruined radio. I only listen to NPR anymore. Oh, I listen to kpft too. kpft rocks. http://www.kpft.org/
Let's get this straight. Radio stations are in business to (gasp) make money. Imagine that...a business wanting to make money. Revolutionary, I know. Now...who has the money? Hmmm...I wonder...oh yeah...record labels. Isn't economics quirky?
You are so smart!! What was I thinking, being mad at a company for ruining something I enjoyed. Both the RIAA and ClearChannel are damn near heaven on earth since they are making a - *gasp* - profit!
LOL ... I meantioned in the other thread about the Buzz that I listened to Rod Ryan alot in New Orleans, well they did the EXACT same April's Fools thing in 2002 with his co-host there, "Gigi" I think was her name. I think it's probably an easy one to pull off for them since Ryan is generally such an *******, especially to the people he works with! But yeah they did the same thing with her storming out the studio, quitting, calling from home and saying she was gonna take action against his sorry ass and stuff... I was fooled pretty good at the time...
The radio sucks ya say? No way! Who doesn't love back to back to back Creed and Nickleback followed by any band who spells their name wrong (Trapt, Staind, etc.) The radio is really cool if you're 12 and don't know better.
Didn't Rob Dibble and whatshisface do this on ESPN Radio yesterday, too? Those radio guys are really original.
The Buzz is really not a bad station, at least when compared to the others that Houston has to offer. By the way, they dont just play Creed or Nickelback... I am really liking this song. I know nothing about the band, but this song alone has me interested in getting that album.
