If you beat the Nuggets tonight and Utah some how beats the Spurs tonight, the Jazz will further pull away from the Nuggets in the playoff race. So PLEASE win tonight.
Well not really. I mean Denver is still behind the Jazz, so if the Nuggets do in fact win tonight, it shouldn't hurt Utah really bad. It'd just be nice to have some breathing room.
But, since it is unlikely that the Jazz will beat the Spurs, a Denver win will rather hurt for them. Not that it matters; my pick for #8 is Portland.
Eh, not really. Denver has a harder schedule than Utah. So the Jazz can still lose to the Spurs and still make the playoffs. Oh and about the Blazers getting the #8, it could happen, but if they continue to stay tied with Utah the rest of the season, the Jazz get in.
Aside from the fact that the Jazz are quite possibly the best story of this season, I am pulling for Portland also. No offense, but Utah will not even put up a fight against the Lake Show. Portland on the other hand might be able to take that series to 7 games. The Jazz, with some luck, would benefit so much more from Dwight Howard (I cant even imagine them with Okafor it is too painful) than 4 games in the playoffs. It is just no fun to root against the Jazz anymore...
The way the lottery is played today, makes it almost mathematically impossible for the 10-12 places to make it into the top3.
So, this thread was started by a Jazz fan. I mean, I knew they existed. They must, I mean the Delta Center always seems quite full, but I've really never met one. I have a friend who has no interest whatsoever in sports, but he knows that he dislikes the Jazz. He went to boot camp, in 2001, and discovered that no one from outside of Utah can stand the Jazz. Of course, this was in the Stockton-Malone pick and roll and flop and pick and roll and flop and pick and roll and flop days, so maybe the national distaste has subsided, but still... Anyway, this guy seems nice enough. Nothing personal, it's just an anomaly to me.
What the hell is a Jazz fan doing here? Is he trying to make us feel bad if we win this game? I mean, it's not like we really have anything to play for. But if we win and propell the Jazz to the playoffs, that would suck so much it's not even funny.
It's actually better for us (long term) if the Jazz make the playoffs. No lottery for them that way. Raven
I was disappointed we lost to the Nuggets, but there was a silver lining, and that's helping the Nuggets' playoff chase. I'd prefer to see Denver make the playoffs over Utah and Portland. I wouldn't mind Portland making the 8th seed, but it pisses me off how the Jazz always make the playoffs. I want to see them go down. Into the lottery. For a long, miserable time.
They have 4 picks in the next draft and tons of capspace. Assuming they snatch some money-hungry decent player, and 2 of those 4 picks contribute, they'll be in the playoffs next year anyway.
F you Utah. Making the playoffs will be sweet, kicking your sorry asses out of the playoffs is almost as sweet.
Be careful how much you help the Nuggets chances. You are not out of the danger zone (lottery land) just yet.
