Why do I feel like I'm getting the crap end of this deal? Berroa - good Ramirez - ok Dye - don't know I have to give up Lee - 30+ HRs, Myers - very good rookie season, and Sexson - 40+ HRs and 120+ RBIs. I got to get better than that. Berroa can stay in the deal, but Ramirez and Dye have got to be changed. Another 3B (Lowell from Rockets-#1 would be nice). If I can get Lowell and Berroa, I can give up Lee and Myers, but no Sexson (gotta get someone equal or at least close to him).
I love the way fatman has come up with this. First, the effort and thought is just magnificent. Second, the trade actually works out. Listen nWo, Dye is hitting 4th in OAK now. He was injured the last 2 years, but he is fully healthy now, so his numbers DON'T SERVE HIM JUSTICE. Look how he was doing before his last two injury plagued seasons. He IS HEALTHY now, those injuries are behind him (I'm not just saying that). He is predicted to get 100 RBI's, I mean cmon' 4th in the OAK lineup, that's a very accurate prediction. Maybe we could tweak the deal a little, but first I could use yall voting against the trade I have pending. Dye is in it, and I think this is a way more fair trade, so it'd be nice if some people could vote against it. Manny/Dye for Barry? I like really am giving away Dye there. Man, this is a good deal you came up with fatman.
You might be right about Dye, but he has to come back into form from the 2001 season. Plus, I don't need another OF or 1B. I need a 3B and SS. Berroa was fine from fatman, but for what I'm giving up, I would like to get a better 3B and another decent pitcher.
Mind if I say WTF??? You offer me a trade, I accept, and now you're asking people to vote against it because you're changing your mind? First of all, it's not right to negotiate trade using players in an already pending trade. Second, it's not right to ask people to vote down a trade that you've proposed because you think you found a better deal elsewhere. I seriously hope your statement was made in some kind of lighthearted manner that didn't come through in text form.
Also, if you look at what I'm getting... Berroa, Dye, and Ramirez for Derek Lee, Myers, and Sexson Doesn't look good for me. You gotta give me Lowell and one other good player w/ Berroa and then you might have a deal. I'm giving up 2 power hitters along w/ a great pitcher....you got to meet me halfway.
nWo... rockets-#1 has Myers. You get Myers It would be Berroa, Dye, Ramirez, Myers for Sexson and Lee.
nWo...honestly, you are probably getting the better end of the deal. You have a surplus of first basemen, you fill your position needs at SS and 3B plus you get an outfielder who will get at least 80+ RBI and a pitcher who could very well turn into a stud. Ramirez also had a great year last year and if he continues this pattern he will be right back where he was 3 years ago. I dont understand your logic of not liking this trade. Rocekts-#1 gets the first basemen power that he needs plus an outfielder who had a breakout year last year before injury. I get what I need at first base and I get back a third baseman after giving up Ramirez.
Well, I'm going to pass on the trades. First of all, 4 players to 2, seems like a good deal, but then there is a restriction on how many players to a roster. Which means I will have to drop some really good players. I will have to do a 1-for-1 swap w/ anyone who wants to trade. I got some pretty good players and for what I see from the trades, I think they are unfair. rockets #1 - I can do Lowell for one of the 1B (but not Sexson). How about D. Lee or Bagwell? fatman510 - I would like Berroa, but Lee for Berroa is uneven. Maybe a Berroa for a SP or RP or OF?
Yes, I hear you. I knew it was wrong when I said it, and I'm sorry for doing so. I know that people aren't going to vote against it if it's a fair trade, so I wasn't really serious. It was just a nice thought, shouldn't have asked in the first place, so forgive me.
C J. Posada - Best catcher in baseball, IMO 1B F. Thomas - Great year last year and now he's hitting cleanup 2B L. Castillo - Subpar year in steals, but still hit .300, should get 30 SB's 3B M. Lowell - Good power from weak position SS É. Rentería - Legitimate 25/25 threat IF M. Teixeira - 30/90 isn't a stretch IF T. Martínez - On a team now where he'll actually get used OF V. Guerrero - Steal of the draft at #9, he can get 40/40, least 35/20 OF M. Mora - Was breaking out before injury last year and will score A LOT OF B. Bonds - Our league uses OBP, practically an automatic win with him on my team Util R. Baldelli - Another guy who can go for 20/20 Util M. Bradley - Starting to come around, same type of player as Mora Util J. Burnitz - 31/77 in a pitcher park last year and is now in COL DL T. Nixon - Solid outfielder with power I see my team as having 6 guys who can get at least 20 steals and have power in all positions except 2B. I have one of the best hitting teams for average. I don't see this lineup as having a weakness except possibly Mora and Bradley not getting as much playing time and consistency as I expect. SP M. Mussina - Pitches for the Yanks, 20 wins easy this year SP C. Zambrano - This guy pitches like an ace with HIGH K's and low era and now has better support RP J. Santana - Finished last year with top 10 #s RP K. Escobar - Solid guy last year and has RP elegibility. P W. Williams - 18 wins last year and has had a solid ERA P O. Pérez - Bust last year, but capable of being LA's best pitcher P J. Washburn - Big falloff last year, but he pitches for the Angels BN R. Harden - Not much time last year, but pitched as good as any young pitcher BN G. Meche - Nice pitcher for a high winning team BN B. Myers - Young guy who will probably surprise many BN J. Williams - VERY solid first year, I believe only gave up 3+ER once BN M. Hampton - We all know about him, doing okay now in ATL One obvious weakness about my pitching, saves. It's only one category though and I don't think there's any way I can ever lose in wins and K's now because I have so many more SP's than any other team. If one or two guys blow up, they'll have 10 other pitchers to bring my ERA/WHIP back down. Overall, I think this team is VERY VERY solid and I don't see another team being able to beat me. I'm very happy with how my team turned out. I did some trades not in my favor, but this was a trade-off because I didn't want to have any bench batters and wanted to focus on starting pitching. What yall got to say now?
Well, fatman and rockets #1, I have proposed trades to you guys. See if you guys are interested... Rockets-#1: D. Lee (ChC - 1B) R. Sanders (StL - LF,RF) for M. Lowell (Fla - 3B) Mon É. Rentería (StL - SS) Mil Fatman: D. Lee (ChC - 1B) C. Biggio (Hou - CF) for A. Ramírez (ChC - 3B) Á. Berroa (KC - SS)
I don't like it because I need SS and 3B elegibility. Also, Lee won't be running this year, so I lose a lot of steals, too. No thanks. Did counter though...
Another dumb question: It looks like I can start as many pitchers as possible to win each week. Even if that means puttin in 9 pitchers that have starts. Is that true? And are there any consequences to doing that?
Thought I'd bring this thread back up so we can get more chatter between league members. Sometimes people dont look at their teams in a while, so trade proposals dont go through.

Sinfonia is dominating so far...he has Rolen and Beltran who have been tearing it up. [/B][/QUOTE] Yeah they have! He did great in week one and maybe even better this last week. He's blowing us out in HR/RBI. I've been using the waiver wire route...picking ww pitchers on their starting days, and so far its worked pretty well for me. I noticed that, and while I think it's a pretty cheap strategy, if no one is going to stop you by picking up the good pitchers out there, then so be it. You got a lot of IP, so it's working for you. The reason I bring this up is because I'm going to win this week's match 10-1 because "The Tang Quartet" (Iron McFist) didn't get the minimum innings pitched requirement; yall gotta make sure to get that. I also stole Miguel Cabrera from the ww. You know how I feel about that already. STUPID! **** EDIT: Thanks for bringing back the thread fatman, I was wondering if we'd ever get to posting in it again.
rockets-#1 - Yeah I realize some people might think of it as a cheap strategy, but in my mind, its just being an active owner who is making his team better. Cabrera - I was wondering why the hell I didn't pick him up in the draft and if there were two Miguel Cabreras and he really did get drafted. Pretty surprised to see him on the wire. Thread - I agree lets keep this thread going.
