I think Ginobili would be a perfect fit for the Rockets.. He'll be a free agent this summer, and while San Antonio has relegated him to the bench, this could be our oppurtunity to sign him. If we could get the Bobcats to draft players with massive contracts IE.. Weatherspoon... Taylor.... I think he would be a great addition, and we could then trade Mobley.. Ginobili could take the ball handling pressure off Francis, and he plays with soo much energy..

    - Spurs want him back for sure.

    - Bobcats will not take our massive contracts.

    - Even if they do, we won't have enough space to sign him to more than 5M, which is the MLE anyway.

    - We trade Mobley for what exactly? For nothing?

    - Ginobili is not a good shooter, so he would take pressure off Francis MAYBE, but not off Yao. Much like Francis, he prefers going to the basket, and Francis does it better.

    It won't happen.

Ginobili's description and what he has done in the NBA
    sounds
like that Nachbar is suppose to be

Except Nachbar suppose to have a shot. . . .

If Nachbar was on the spurs would he be better?

    Rocket River
It staggers a question .. . . but it is for a new thread

Doesn't matter, Spurs aren't letting him go anywhere. I unfortunately had to live in S.A. last year and they are crazy about that guy. I really want the Rockets to make a move for B. Barry.

The only problem with Ginobili playing here is that he'd actually get called for travelling...

I'm guessing Ginobili had a good game last night?

Actually, I've just moved to Harlingen and so they ALWAYS play the Spurs here. Every game. And I have to say, Manu is a solid player, and there is no way, NONE, barring the ability to acquire Kobe Bryant and not having the available capspace for anyone else, that they would let Ginobili go.

spurs won't give him up, they have spent a lot of time developing him into the player he is becoming.

Also, I think he is one of those players that is bound to be injury prone. He has already had a few and his type of play uses up a lot of energy and takes a lot of risks on his body.

No, but if Nachbar was on *speed* he might be better.

No way they let Manu go. They're grooming him to be Peja Junior. They'll call him Peju.

    manu's going nowhere.

oh, and manu's for real. as much as i don't like saying it (being that i can't stand the spurs), i've watched almost every game of his, and he is a legit borderline star player. as soon as pop figures out to put the ball in his hands every time down court - be it as a point guard or whatever - he will explode on the court.

that said, he is one of the very, very, very few players in the nba that i would actually overpay to have. his true market value is probably around 5-6 mill per year right now...and much of that is already based on the magical "p" word (potential). that said, i'd consider dropping an extra mill or two on him. he's a sure bet

oh, and nachbar is nothing like manu. manu has the freakin' bball on a string, has court vision that rival's lebron james', and - maybe the biggest difference of all - believes not only that he belongs in this league, but that in any given game, he's the best guard on the floor.

    ....

excuse me while i go throw up....

    Verse.

    AMEN !!

I would kill to have Ginobli on the Rockets....a smart versatile player like that would instantly add 10+ wins to this team.
