I had one as a kid. That's some weird **** "Here's a bed that might drown you in your sleep!"

Not a waterbed but in a hotel at the moment and didn't realize how shitty my mattress was. I now sleep like a ****ing newborn baby...

They have some new style ones, we switched back to one after using a sleep number for years, the waterbed is excellent on my back, seems to relieve pressure nicely. These newer ones (new as in not 70s/80s and currently made) have extra chambers or individual tubes, so it makes them feel different than the old style ones and also they look like a regular mattress - not like the old single bladder or ultra wave stuff.

I prefer the tube ones since if you managed to get a leak you can just swap one out individually.

After using one I'm not going back to a regular mattress or a sleep number for the foreseeable future. The problem is... Once you sleep on this and if it's comfortable to you, you basically won't want to sleep on a regular mattress again.

I highly recommend it for anyone with back pain or if you sleep on your side, don't get me wrong the sleep number was nice but this seems to do a lot better job on the joints.

I loved waterbeds when I was a teenager through my 20’s.

First they never got hot which was huge in Texas

    Second extremely easy to clean

Third never felt any pressure points on my limbs

Last, they were awesome to **** on.... you could go for hours on one once you were used to it.

I don’t know that I would get one now... supposedly they are actually bad for your back and with my wife next to me... no one would sleep... good forbid if there are three adults sleeping on it, the waves would be too much.

Yeah, I've heard both on the back, I don't know, I mean it seems to help me. Anyway, if you try the newish designs/tubes etc you won't have problem with you/wife moving. It just depends if you like it still, I absolutely agree with you on the old ones though, I think it'd get old fast with the moving/motion.

What's nice on these newer style waterbeds is you can have your side harder/softer etc, similar to a sleep number style. Obviously you can't adjust it on the fly or anything but it's nice if your wife likes her side more/less water etc.

We had a Superior Waterbeds in my neighborhood. My brother would walk down there and chow down on the free hot dogs and ice cream until he got kicked out. We were poor. o_O

I had one in college out of all the times in my life. My old roommates parents used it for a few weeks and didn’t like it but they couldn’t return it so they let me have it for super cheap cause I needed a new bed anyways.

pros: reactions when girls would first sit/lay on it.
    ****ing.

cons: sleeping after drinking too much. The slightest hint of having the spins and it was game over.

If one caught on fire it would put itself out (eventually).

I used to know a guy that worked on those commercials. He said that Barry would only record 1 take so the crew HAD to get their job right the first time. If you asked for a 2nd take he would go berserk. Apparently he was a hothead

Had one from 86-96. It was fine. Wouldn't do one these days.
