I'm one of them. Of course they are. But the ones that can work from home are mostly working from home. As schooling should be.

I haven't missed a day of work. Except the three I was quarantined after my son was tested.

As an architect who has worked on school projects it's also not just the total square footage. Modern classrooms aren't just rooms with desk but there are spaces programmed for doing projects and for different teaching arrangements. Also for storage.

I'm guessing as a teacher you could use more storage.

“Why are you wearing riot gear - we don’t see no riot here” can be the new fight song - teachers can maybe teach about how to wear a mask, kids can make protest signs - I see a lot of benefit for the socialist marxists to embrace public school brain washing - ok nvm holy crap - yea screw public schools - let’s keep kids taught at home - I just changed my mind

Fwiw, LAUSD and most, perhaps all, of the suburban Los Angeles districts are starting the year with remote learning.

I agree this is the worst outbreak currently in the world but that's a different discussion to the one I quoted which was "oh my god teachers have to go to work"

Kids are probably at less risk going to school than not. Are these places without school dropping off meals, or doing welfare checks or anything that has been wound into public school but is really a welfare social service?
