The guitar is sublime here obviously, but this is not better than the Mamma's and Pappa's version. In the same way as Jimi's version of Johnny B. Goode is hot guitar, but not better than Chuck Berry's version.
tomorrow is Roger McGuinn's 78th birthday. Didn't realize this was a Pete Seeger song from the 50s. studio version and live version
For all the bardcore, medieval covers of popular songs you never knew you needed, we have this channel, which is only a month old and already has over half a million subs. That's how good it is.
I've got a friends who's a big fan of Ska covers. Here's some of his recommendations. Reel Big Fish had a hit with a cover of Take on Me but this one is pretty good. A Third wave ska cover of a First wave ska song. I don't know if the original counts as a Ska song but this works great.
Three Days Grace - Somebody That I Used to Know though i'm not really a fan of the band i like the above cover better than the original.
Agree with the Timber submission. Pretty solid ska and an improvement on the over-popped sound of the original.
