Well, now you do. I voted for Trump simply because at the time I thought he might be less crooked than Hillary. Boy was I wrong!!!!! No way in hell would I vote for Trump now!!! He is probably far more crooked, is far more dangerous, and fits all the characteristics of narcissist, psychopath, and sociopath. He is an egomaniac compulsive liar, so nothing that comes out of his mouth I believe anymore. He has put Americans in a dangerous and deadly situation with the pandemic in many ways. He has never apologized or admitted any mistake he has made. He has abused his power in the justice system, and has admitted to believing rulers like Putin, yet disregarded advice from experts like Fauci. I have no doubt in my mind his family has abused their positions of power to reap rewards for their family fortunes both here and abroad. He is a nasty man in so many ways. I won't even begin on that part. The list of reasons I would vote for ANYONE in the Democratic Party over Trump is too long to list. I have no trust at all now of any of his spineless, brainless jellyfish party members any more. They should have removed him from office when they had the chance. Now they can all fall down like dominoes with him. Hopefully there are many more people like me who will switch parties in a heartbeat. I would hope a big majority of the families of the thousands of dead Coronavirus victims who were Republicans before would vote him out. I would like to think that there are many people like me who want to bring back what Trump has ripped from America. He is the opposite of what our constitution was founded on. People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Nowhere in that preamble do I see anything resembling the Trump way. In fact, it's being ripped to shreds and scoffed at. He disgusts me. Biden's health doesn't concern me. If his chosen Vice President had to take over, even if they were a potato head, I would have more confidence in them bringing this country back to what it should be than I would Trump.
just curious, based on people you know and talked to, what percent of people who voted for trump feel the same way as you now? and will you simply not vote or will you vote for Biden?
Thank you for sharing your story. I am also an extreme example given who my family is and the social circles I'm in consistently. It's the prototype of what exactly Trump's base is or would be. It completely leaves out that there are independents that voted for him that aren't in those circles. However my point is that that base of support is likely larger than people really think, and the reach of FoxNews cannot be discounted in an election year. It also speaks to the differences in where you live too. The one polling data point that scares me is how MORE than 50% of Americans polled think that Trump is better on the economy than Biden which is nuts. That polling point should send shock waves up the Democratic party and shows they have work to do in those key "Economic Anxiety Even In Good Times" states like Wisconsin that delivered the presidency to Trump.
I can't really answer your first question because I try to avoid politics with people outside this forum. As for voting, I will definitely vote Biden. I just hope by then we are allowed to absentee vote because I don't qualify. I just find it disgusting that our state representatives are doing all they can to force people to put themselves at that risk during a pandemic.
There are a lot like me though who didn't gain anything financially since Obama was President. Trump did nothing for me other than cause me more stress than I ever imagined possible. So, again, there might be more out there who wouldn't use economy as their last straw for ignoring everything else and voting for Trump again. Hopefully anyway. I think there are huge groups wanting change. Protests going on around the country are a good sign. People are risking getting the virus because they want to be heard. They are scared, angry, and crying out for change. They won't be voting for Trump. At least most of them won't I would guess. My other hope is that far more people go out and vote than last election because they can't stand the thought of Trump's madness, recklessness, and hate stirring antics another term. He takes the "United" out of United States.

Anybody who believes a magic bullet for COVID19 exists and will be fully deployed within 90 days is no better than the idiot president who keeps telling us it will just go away like a miracle. DC Statehood. Voting Rights reform. Judiciary Reform. The fascists are in the minority. It's time to make our democracy reflect it. Voters "coming home" to Trump is not a thing that has any evidence of happening, and intuitively should not happen. Governing on eggshells because of it is a big mistake. Another thing I should note Publicly discussing Trump as a loser who is losing is devastating to Trump Like not only is it devastating to syphilitic brain and ego but think of his sad boy walk back from his Tulsa Superspread disaster. His whole 1 dimensional public persona is that of a winner who wins. In reality when people talk about him as a loser who loses - which he is - it pretty much paralyzes him.
Um, I think any kid in junior high that took American History knew Lincoln's political party... but trump, well, he found it a surprise. I wonder who he paid to take junior high for him?
I am all for tamping down the enthusiasm but this article is based on a false premise. "One need not listen hard these days to hear the sound of Democratic pollsters and pundits gleefully cheering that the end of President Donald Trump's term in power is finally in sight -- Joe Biden's Inauguration Day on January 20th, 2021." Who is doing this? I watch a lot of cable news and I have not seen one Pundit gleefully cheering that this thing is over, everybody has gone out of there way to say this is not over. What am I missing? Can somebody link to articles or videos of Pundits doing this?
My mom didn't vote for Trump last time, didn't vote for anyone as President (couldn't stand Hillary either)...she was a pretty die-hard fiscal conservative Republican, but has become disgusted by the Tea Party and Trump and will vote for Biden this time around. She even voted in the Democratic primary earlier this year for the first time in her life. She was going to vote for Mayor Pete, but she voted on election day after everyone had bowed out so she voted Biden. Dad also didn't vote for either candidate last time. I'm 99.9% sure he won't vote for Trump, but I'm not sure he'll vote for Biden either...really depends on how far left Biden goes in his campaign. He stayed with the Republican primary this year (although he's been known to switch it up depending on how he's feeling), but I think that was more because he was more interested in some of the down-ballot races. My son is a new voter this time around...voted for Bloomberg in the primary, but is definitely voting for Biden in the general election. If he could have voted in 2016 (he was 17 so a year short)...he just might have voted for Trump. Not sure, definitely sure this time.
I agree with your thoughts here. Considering who wrote it, my guess is that this was more "coachspeak" than actual reality. Team has dominated so far and is up by 14 at halftime, players are goofing around, too many smiles...coach then comes in and points out all the flaws in the first half, screams at a couple of guys, chews their asses so that they stay focused at halftime.
Yes I do basically agree with you. 2016 is not the latest election and nobody has said to ignore anything, I find it odd that you keep saying stuff that nobody has said. So enthusiasm has to happen at a certain point? Why is early enthusiasm bad for Biden but good for Trump and for the umpteenth time nobody is taking victory for granted. Can you please point out these people who are saying victory is certain, can you ink a article or video of somebody saying this?
Very good analogy but a good coach knows when this speech is needed and all I see are people that keep saying keep saying its much to early to let up and everybody seems focused. At which point do you tune that coach out because that's all he has? It's ok the pat the team on back while keeping focus.
I’m wondering where all this cheering and complacency is coming from as well I expect Democratic and Independent voter turnout to be very high...everybody knows how disastrous 4 more years of Trump will be the consistent message I’ve seen is “make your voice count on Nov 3rd, go out and vote”...this is not 2016
