If the rockets can just cut down on their turnovers they will be a really good team and a hard team to beat come playoff time. If we can average between 12-15 turnovers a game I think we'll be alright, and also if Yao draws more fouls. I was looking at the boxscore for the game against the T-Wolves and I noticed that Yao had zero attempts from the charity stripe. We can not let that happen, he is our go to guy and didn't get to the foul line once. I don't if it's bad officiating or Yao not being aggressive. My fellow Rocket fans what do you think we can do to improve our chances of going deep into the playoffs.
You have identified two major problems, BUT the solutions are more difficult. The officials are allowing defenders to "brutalize" Ming, JVG has pointed it out, but it continues. Several of our players are not good at protecting the ball and don't seem to improve even though the coaching staff has harped on this problem. It is too late to assemble another team or reform the officials, so I expect the sloppy ball handling and the "mugging" of Ming to continue into the playoffs.
As long as we are bashing a newbie, look at the thread title. It should read: "FEWER Turnovers, More Free Throws." 008, if you read this, then you will know why I say few people in this country know their own language.
Fewer is a unit measure, and less is a liquid measure. You may have "less" water in a barrel but "fewer" gallons than a pitcher can hold. You may have fewer than 20 items at the checkout counter but less money than you need. When you become sophisticated in the English language you will discover "thought" is a fluidic measure whereas "thoughts" are measured in units, i.e. less thought went into this post and even fewer thoughts were registered. I don't know what "tos" are/is? Oh yes, the newbie from China (.....008) has trouble with his translation software but exhibits better than average enthusiasm, knowledge and courtesy in discussing the NBA.
I've noticed that we need to score MORE points while holding our opponents to LESS buckets (I've noticed that our more fluid opponents tend to score their points in buckets...) signed, a typical American smartass ...... (I know I'm neither funny nor sophisticated but it's so rare that I can rationalize posting anyway, since I never see any games, that when such an opportunity presents itself it's hard to resist... please forgive me.) (... I need a hug... god i love these smilies...) Dangit, you beat me to it, Captain Obvious. You always do that! Really, though, I'm a great admirer of your work, a huge fan... Let's just pretend my post came before yours, though, ok? ... now I REALLY need a hug...
