I didn't want to hurt the bastards, but I wanted to teach them a lesson they'd never forget. I imagine somewhere, a Wal-Mart had a run on some mineral spirits (rubbing alcohol also works to take it off the skin). While it may be water-soluble, it does stay on the skin for a while until it finally washes away.
Ever hear of Teddy Rosevelt? The greatest Republican of all time ran against his party's candidate for the Bull-Moose.
Actually, Taft was the incumbent at the time. So it was not an apt analogy. Oh, and Teddy would probably be the greatest Republican president ever... after some guy named Abraham Lincoln.
So would you have approved if Al Gore had gotten a paintball gun and some pepperspray and had at it at the protestors who were at his house during the recount holding up signs saying "Get out of Cheney's House"? While I certainly wouldn't like it if people were protesting me outside my house as long as they stayed on the public sidewalk and didn't damage my property I would respect their right to speach and assembly.
Money and the whole Repub leadership lining up beyond him. The same can be said for a lot of primary battles. For instance in MN the Dems keep on putting up terrible insider candidates for Gov., like the son of Hubert Humphrey or the Senate Majority leader, because the party thinks they owe them for years of service.
Tens of millions in negative attack ads, muckraking and lies, push polling in South Carolina. Basically, every dirty trick that Karl Rove knows.
The money knew that Bush would be, perhaps, the most compliant and corporate friendly, president ever. Because of this he was build the biggest campain war chest in history. McCain was seen as too much of maverick and did not receive nearly the financial support.
I did mean to raise the question about the last race but also wanted to follow up with this one. I understand about the money, the conservative support, the corporate power .... What I don't understand is why the common man/ Republican voters did not realize and want to pick a better man in McCain? If you didn't know who was a better man 4 yrs ago, don't you know it by now? Do you still favor Bush beyond the fact that he is the incumbent?
McCain's tactics during the election 4yrs ago were dispicable saying/doing anything to get votes, and there was no limit as to who he would sell out. Sorry but that is typical and common of the democratic party ... Its's amazing hes a Republican at all and no wonder all the democrat's like him.
Who have you been listening to?!? GWB ran the dirtiest campaign that I can remember, especially with what he did to McCain in the primary. You need to take off your blinders so that you can see who is filling your head with these lies.
