If you are actually watching the Cynthia Cooper segments of the Rockets' telecast then you need help. The TV is not on until I'm sure the game has started, for half time I'm wathcing another channel, and as soon as the game is over I flip over to Sports Center. No Coop Scoop for me ever.

I wonder does Les ever watch Coop on live TV before doing her job? I wonder who hired her.

It's not cute when girls try to talk trash like the way she does. ('Stevie, you must be watching some of my tapes, just kidding' -- after acrobatic moves). It's just not cute with that fake a$$ smile. It's not cute when she wiggles her nappy head around trying to dance while Jeff Haggawhatshisface is talking. It's not cute especially if you're not very cute and act like you're all that. She's visual pollution to TV.

Come on. Give Coop a break. Have you all forgotten what she's done to the city? She brought 4 championships to Houston. Doesn't that mean anything to you guys?

"we've had a lot of interest in the job and ... obviously, someone with her credentials would be considered like everybody else."

in other words ... no way in hell

Four championships doesn't equal being given a job that you are obviously not qualified for.

I bet Bullard isn't eligible for the job just for being a man. With Bill and Calvin (/Bullard) and Hagedorn, they want a female presence. They aren't going to do it with a 100% male team. Neither Bill nor Calvin are likely to be replaced by a woman unless she was a real natural behind the mic and really knew basketball (qualities that Bullard seems to have, incidentally). Jeff's job could be done by a woman, but I think they'd be afraid of the perception that she's not there to provide any basketball-related content. So that leaves the Maloski/Cooper position where they need to put in a woman who knows about basketball.

I hope she makes it but possibly doesnt have the chatty personality required for such a job.

Right there with you. As someone said early in the season, I would rather eat ground glass than watch the Rox halftime show with Coop. I loved her as a Comet, but as an analyst, she is severely lacking.

I just turn on the ReplayTV and watch part of a "Best Da#n" or "American Chopper" until halftime is over.

Yeah, it means she was a great basketball player that I will forever revere as such.

It still doesn't make her a decent broadcaster (is that term PC when applied to a female? Should it be "womancaster"? :D )

Man, I really feel bad for Coop. I mean, she was just AWESOME in her 4 years on the Comets. She dominated the league to the level that not even MJ in his prime dominated the NBA. Even though I'm not a big WNBA fan, I'll always be grateful of what Coop brought to the Comets.

That said, she is absolutely unwatchable at halftime. Yes, she has made improvments. But she started off at such a low level that she sucks big time even with the improvment. Sure, it's possible that she eventually be a good commentator. But I'd bet on Moochie turning into an All-Star first.
