I didn't know he directed "Oh, God" and "The Jerk". Those two films brought me so much joy as a kid. I've seen him around. I probably watched him on "Dick Van Dyke Show" way back when...back when TVs were these big box monstrosities with lousy pictures and big remotes. But, I can't remember. I do remember adjusting antenna ears and hitting the TV, though. I recall watching him and Rob doing an interview not so long ago about something. He will be missed. RIP

It’s such sad news, which is ironic because Carl’s main goal in life seemed to be to make us all laugh. He should be celebrated. He gave us so much and brightened our lives, whether weekly with the Dick Van Dyke Show, and I watched every episode while it was running, or his films, which were often so much more than simply comedy.

Rest In Peace, Carl. If there is a God, he could use a laugh or two. If so, he just got the guy he needed.

Very funny man and made comedy well into his 90s.

His HBO special was great and inspirational to live your life to the fullest, it's worth your time imo.
