that wouldn't matter. hes part of the inactive list. IHart would have been part of it too if he went to orlando and not been waived. but the roster is capped at 15 so someone had to go
that's true. and you can be a great defender without being a great athlete. know your scouting, positioning, timing, anticipation, etc... those are great examples but none came back with 100% speed and athleticism. they didn't ruin their career either. nwaba will be similar to your examples. won't ruin his career, will come back close to what he was before, but to my point he won't have 100% of his speed and athleticism. the question remains what does the drop-off do to his productivity? especially since he relied so heavily on speed and athleticism to be merely a fringe rotation player. on the other hand, Wilkins and gay had a ton of skill to fall back on. but as I said, we hope for the best but no worries since there's no risk on the rockets part. overall I don't think they'd cut harty for someone they didn't think would be here next year. this is a classic buy low for morey. swab's stock is at a low point. if he were fully healthy he'd never be available for this price. morey pounced and got a defensive wing who will outperform his minimum contract.
Now let's add a player (or two) for THIS SEASON. Championship or bust!!! 6'6 Theo Pinson (6'11 wingspan) 6'6 Justin Anderson (7'0 wingspan, 44" vert) 6'9 Jonah Bolden (7'3 wingspan) More players that can defend 1-5 (rim & perimeter), handle/pass and shoot 3ball. Plus all are 28 or younger.
I don't disagree with this statement .... Its true. But .... could there come a point in a game where you need an actual big man for a meaningful possession here or there ? That's a simple answer - Yes. Is there any point where playing Clemons is a good idea .... outside of being on one end or the other of a blowout ? In any situation outside of a blowout , there are better options on this roster than Clemons. The same can't be said of IHart.
Liking Nwaba more and more. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/b...hooting-guard-who-doesnt-shoot-thriving-bulls https://www.blogabull.com/2017/12/1...-bulls-los-angeles-lakers-nba-waiver-cal-poly
It's like they draft him, improve him by sending him to the Dleague and discard him for other teams to pick up. I am not saying it was a total waste of time but yeah...that is likely how you develop talents these days. With a level of patience.
This dude was playing in the Santa Monica College team just two seasons ago before signing a 10 day with the Lakers.
I personally dig Clemons and think he can play. But yeah, D'Antoni won't be playing him over Rivers anytime soon.
From 1:30 to 1:40 Pretty sure I’ve never seen a better single individual defensive possession ever before
The more video I watch on him the less I hate the move. I think Nwaba is a good pick up and fits the Rockets system very well but I will never agree with cutting a healthy player in order to sign an injured one. Especially when the healthy player is young, has upside and could be considered a trade asset in the upcoming season.
