I don't disagree with you - I am just not sure this is the blatant attempt to disenfranchise voters as it's being made out to be or just a poor decision.
After a lot more reading and digging, I’d say it falls in the poor decision camp. I don’t think it’s a blatant attempt to disenfranchise voters when the state allowed everyone to vote by mail and also has offered eight days of early voting (June 15 - June 22).
https://www.predictit.org/ Check out the front page of PredictIt. Latest gambling odds have Biden winning 334 electoral votes. He has more than the required 270 in states that are “likely” democrat, before you even get to “lean democrat”. I ran some simulations and even if you flipped current blue-leaning states; North Carolina, Arizona, Florida AND gave Trump “likely D” Wisconsin...that’s still a 269-269 tie. Unless something dramatically changes, there is no discernible path to Trump reaching a majority. particularly if one of Iowa, Georgia, Texas or Ohio (all within the margin of error) flips there is a better chance of Biden winning in a colossal landslide than Trump eking out a victory.
At this point I hope Trump loses for an extremely immature reason. Not because I think he is mostly bad for the US and the world. I want him to lose because he is simply an awful person. I want to see him leave in shame and understand he lost more for those qualities than an actual pluratliy of people disliking his policies.
I don't give a flip about him, his adult children, or his wife. I just need the next administration to take seriously the damage already done, to realize no allied country will trust us without codifying all the norms and customs that have been used as toilet paper into law... and to seriously pursue the giant pile of broken laws trump has left behind. The only way to heal is to cut out the cancer. All the it (Graham, Mcconnell, Barr, etc...) None of that kumbaya, lets all hug and forget about it garbage. Some might say be careful, democrats will see the same treatment.... Ya ask Hillary about that, and the seven Benghazi investigations; it happens anyway. Also, if dems *are* guilty they can go to jail too.
Yeah, if the election were next week we might be seeing one of the most lopsided victories of all time. The only thing Trump/GOP has going for it is that there's still a lot of time left for them to circle the wagons and find something to excite the base. I think the GOP base just isn't as enthused about Trump as they were. The recent SCOTUS losses aren't helping and Trump really hasn't accomplished much outside of giving tax breaks to the rich.
Well said. One thing I've learned the past 3.5 years is not to be a fan of any party or fn politician. Hold any elected official to the highest integrity and see if they are actually following up on their agenda. I'm no fan of Biden, but a sane person can never vote for Garbage Trump.
I’ll just put this here. Trump’s data-hungry, invasive app is a voter surveillance tool of extraordinary power https://www.technologyreview.com/20...ter-surveillance-tool-of-extraordinary-scope/
trump is so afraid of more people voting, and voting against him, that he continues to lie and invent non-existent problems with mail-in voting (a practice, btw, he has done as a voter). And the chief law-enforcement of American repeats these claims, all without any evidence that shows such danger exists...
everyone needs to be vigilant everyone register. protect everyone's right and ability to vote. everyone vote. make sure everyone's vote counts.
his path to victory shouldn’t be taken for granted... last thing you need is another sure victory altitude and a depressed turnout voter suppression galore openly push for election interference from foreign gov power of the executive branch to lie, cheat, interfere, suppress, ... chaos inducer
Trump and Barr can both go straight to hell. I hope they both end up in federal prison once they are out of office (hopefully come January with the inauguration of Joe Biden).
