I think you mean "Stepford" Wives. The original, while it was SUPPOSED to be scary, was so bizarre and 70's-ish, it makes sense to remake it as a half-joking thriller. They did basically the same thing with Starsky and Hutch. http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/the_stepford_wives/
i know . .. ruining old movies. . . . starsky and hutch made it .. . this new spoof looks stupid Rocket River "This is going to get weird. . . . TWO DRAGONS" - Will ferrel
I think the original Stepford Wives ruined the Stepford Wives. It's exactly the kind of movie that needs to be "reimagined", though I personally would not have gone with comedy, it was a story that was ripe for a redo (as was Ocean's 11 and several others). The original never worked for me, overall, but it's a good concept. I dislike remakes of movies that still hold up today. Remaking "Charade", for example. There was no way to make the original better, so why even try?
I just saw Charade today. Wow. I love that movie. Thank god Criterion is re-releasing it next month. I am officially in love with Audrey Hepburn. Angelina, it was fun.
I've already told you Nomar, it's too late. Guys, I've had Audrey. Yup, yours truly can time travel. BTW, I went to see her last night and she said to tell you that Lord of the Rings r0x0red.
First of all, you just lied. There goes any credibility you once had. Secondly, she would never like that trash movie, and she would never use the 'word' 'r0x0red'. She is much to classy/beautiful/brilliantly talented/etc.
Taking Lives was a decent crime thriller. Nothing ground breaking and you could basically replace Ethan Hawk with a Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie with Ashley Judd. Throw in Morgan Freeman and I swear to God I've seen this movie a thousand times. Great great sex scene with Tomb Raider, er Angelina Jolie makes it worth it.
