Hardly limited to Texans. Brian Kemp did the same kind of thing in GA.

Texas is a massive state to treat with a one size fits all approach.

His beloved STRIKE FORCE has people like Fertitta on it. Fertitta doesn't want to scare people from eating shitty food at his shitty restaurants.

Next he'll ban wheelchairs -- Trump prefers governors that can walk.

Businesses can still have face covering requirements though.

I liked the tweet someone posted yesterday that only in The U.S would wearing a face mask be politicized. (Brasil also)

Wheels and ramps are in a secret alliance with gravity - to bring everything down.

There is nothing keeping cities from recommending mask or from private businesses requiring them.

Face covering? You can’t fool me with this blatant attempt to force Shira law on us.

The issue here is statewide confusion, and everyone thinking things are different than they currently are. Most people don't follow the day to day data in Texas or Houston/Dallas/Austin specifically. If you want to see what I mean go drive down to Galveston right now, and walk around the Strand or on the Seawall. You would NEVER think there is a pandemic going on, and the social distancing practices are from person to person. People are getting mixed messages because of the politics of people like Gregg Abbott and his party's propaganda network over at FoxNews who spend entire hours covering downtown Seattle's normal congregation of homeless white hippies, and zero time covering the on-going pandemic that continues to kill 1000 Americans a day.

There's massive issues with public awareness, and the politics creating purposeful negligence that makes the pandemic 10X worse. If FoxNews and the right wing billionaires weren't deathly afraid of Trump not winning again in November, its almost for sure the case that thousands of people would still be alive, and we'd probably be out of this mess by now. Instead, the insistence on ignoring and hoping the virus just goes away has had the opposite affect.

I agree.... I will file that under the suggested speed limit argument I used to hear.
