Trump snubs Dallas’ top law enforcement officials, all black

Humans have to read dog whistles.

 

They hate him bro. Dallas is another city of “vote blue no matter who”. I’ve been to Dallas many many times when I was living in HTown.

 

In today's Republican photo op, Sen. John Cornyn cleaned up Trump's poor MAGA optics from yesterday by holding a roundtable meeting that included the Dallas county DA, Sheriff and Dallas Police Chief. I was impressed as he actually allowed them to speak out loud...for the cameras. Somewhere Ted Cruz must have been losing his lunch...

Cornyn isn't stupid. He certainly has more on the ball than Abbott and Patrick, which takes little enough effort. The guy even looks the part of "US Senator" with that mane of hair (yes, I envy his head of hair, dammit) and plays the role reasonably well for a Republican these days. It's a shame that he's sold out to trump's madness. He'll be tough to beat in November, yet becomes more vulnerable by the day as trump drags the GOP down, down, down.

Texas is damn close to being in play, believe it or not. If voter suppression wasn't so sophisticated in our state, I seriously think Biden would take it and that Cornyn would lose. Democrats dominate every major city in Texas politically, and trump seems intent on handing the Democratic Party suburban women, which could be key to a Blue landslide, in my opinion.

The coming election in November continues to trend towards Joe Biden. trump lost the popular vote to Ms Clinton in 2016. She had 3,000,000 more votes than the Liar in Chief and still managed to lose. Nothing can be taken for granted, of course (hell, not after 2016!), but I'm thinking that Senator Cornyn is beginning to sweat. As criminally chaotic as the Georgia primary was, as hard as the GOP in that state worked to suppress the vote there, the turnout ended up being huge. Voting in the Georgia Democratic primary was three times the turnout in 2016. Very interesting!
