You, with your irrational Tilman hate are the biggest clown of them all.

NBA players being led by a flat earther.

Like US voting Trump as president.

    All kinds of stupid.

Several points were made on the call, according to sources:

    • Anthony stressed unity, having a sole message and allowing the young players in the NBA a voice. At one point, Anthony suggested having all 80 players on the call donating $25,000 to a cause that they wanted.

    • McCollum stated that players must be prepared for the financial dip if they choose not to play, and owners completely ripping apart the collective bargaining agreement.

    • The NBPA’s leadership stated it is believed no fans will be permitted into games for the entire 2020-21 season.

    • Howard stressed to players that playing in Orlando will become a distraction from the issues the country is facing, and that they need to unify and use this moment to create a change.

    • Mitchell expressed concerns about playing due to “being behind the 8-ball” having not played five-on-five and being thrust into a competitive environment and eight-game regular season. “We’re taking a big (injury) risk,” Mitchell said. Mitchell is up for a maximum contract extension this summer.
    ________

Irving, along Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and Donovan Mitchell, expressed their desire not to play at this juncture, sources said. Portland Trail Blazers star C.J. McCollum shared that he voted “no” on resuming the season in a group chat, but he stressed the importance of finishing the season out of fear the next CBA negotiations wouldn't be so kind to the players, sources said.

Howard said the time is now to take a stand and to use their collective power to implement change in the justice system and how police treat people of color instead of playing, sources said.

Mitchell, who is up for an extension this offseason, explained he's concerned with returning to play and injuring himself and thus jeopardizing his opportunity for a max deal, sources said.

Before the call, sources said, players were disappointed that they all were not given a vote on whether to return to play.

Mitchell explained that the young players feel as if they're not being listened to, sources said. Mo Bamba acknowledged some young players are intimidated to voice an opinion that's opposite of the superstars’, sources said. Anthony apologized and assured them that moving forward the platform would be for all to participate in, and throughout the call he asked for young players to let their voices be heard, sources said.

Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Rudy Gay, Garrett Temple, Spencer Dinwiddie, Mason Plumlee and Andre Iguodala were among those on the call, sources said. WNBA players Tiffany Hayes, Kristi Toliver, Renee Montgomery and Natasha Cloud were on the call as well, sources said.
    ________

Even after the call, there was still a belief within the league that the NBA would have the players' support it needed to resume the season, but no one could be as sure as they seemed to be a mere week ago.

Usually when there's a flurry of tweets posted on Clutchfans, i'm excited and intrigued.

The opposite is true reading through these last 5 pages.

    My take aways:

    1) Kyrie is an even bigger clown than I already thought he was

    2) I have changed my position and I genuinely could not care less if the NBA returns this season.

Resuming the season just seems like a bad idea, to me, given what all is going on. Even if a team breaks through and wins it, it won’t be treated like a normal championship. Just treat them like exhibition games, because that’s all they will be.

    .

Look at the bundesliga games. It looks like a bunch of guys running around in a scrimmage with cardboard cutouts of fans.

Because that's what it is. Maybe after awhile we'll convince ourselves it's the same.

Let's not be all negative, the Bundesliga quality is about 85-90%.

Just happened that those who used to watch it in person, can do it at home.

    Following on from this.

The National Rugby League past three rounds since the season resumed have actually been a huge hit and increase in quality.

500 fans allowed in stadiums this weekend.

And the Commissioner hoping to have full stadiums within two months.

Reducing the numbers of people in the 'bubble' - the two referees per game was reduced to one.

The game is now flowing a lot smoother and is noticeably better than has been for the past decade. This change would never have happened without the forced shut down......... so maybe somewhere in the near future there's an improvement made in the NBA too.

Watching it at home is like watching an elaborate practice session.

Get ready for the same thing in NBA, if they ever get going.

Kyrie is content with his one championship as second banana and his money, the others aren't.

If kyrie 100% wanted to back what he said, he would just retire. If something smells fishy and all he’d separate himself from the nba permanently. But nah he’s having his kyrie moment while others are actually thinking logically as a whole. Obviously guys are on his side when it comes to social reform etc as they should but they’ve also made it clear Kyrie isn’t speaking for them all Especially with his I’m willing to risk it all talk. Yeah we’ll see about that

So he didn't invite LeBron? LeBron, Harden,Curry, and Greek Freak are the NBA and none were invited?

Lead by Melo, Dwight, and Kyrie???lol

Three guys with their money already. One is injured and two started season on league minimum contact but don't need the money.

I feel bad for the journey men and young players that are. Aware to speak up and have their career earning ruined. They have a limited earning power in the NBA.

Reminds me of work where fridge workers and newbies are afraid to speak up

Yup, if Kyrie retires for the cause, then I respect and support him

Otherwise, STFU, you're injured and rich!

Go retire like other s have. Bison Dele, Kap, and other ruined their career for cause.

Now it's time for you to show you really believe in the fight by retiring, Kyrie

    Russ on this call.

A Zoom conference call led by Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving on Friday night that included 80-plus NBA players — and WNBA players — established a unifying front in which opinions on the pros and cons of returning to play were discussed.

The call, which lasted an hour and forty minutes, focused on the role players could play in combating systemic racism, investing in black communities and sticking together through this process, sources said.

Irving made it known he was strongly against going to Orlando, Florida, to resume the season, opting instead to work on the frontlines in his community to focus on racial oppression and systemic racism in the aftermath of George Floyd’s homicide, sources said.
