Most players definitely need the money a lot more than the owners. For a lot of owners any money lost from cancelling the entire season is insignificant to their overall wealth. Not Tilman though. He's probably screwed if the entire season was cancelled.

They need a minimum number of regular season games hence the 22 team and 8 regular season game s format. Probably the same reasoning is behind not changing the playoffs from best of 7.

 

I would love for sports to return, but why should anyone be so quick to dismiss the health concerns of anybody when this pandemic has killed over a 100,000 people with no end in sight?
