Things seem to be getting worse for U.S. soldiers in Iraq. I was very concerned that my brother, who is a U.S. Marine, was going to be sent over, months before he retires at the twenty year mark. The knowledge that he might be killed, and his boys left fatherless, as a result of the Bush Administration's hubris, incompetence and lies, has made this a very personal issue for me. that doesnt point towards things getting worse....just staying the same. the slope on that line doesn't get steeper, if anything it gets a bit flatter.
You're right. I misspoke. The rate of military fatalities has remained pretty steady over the last year.
IF anyone is good at calculus maybe we could make a graph regarding the rate of casualties. I will add that even if the rate stays flat I still wouldn't find that reassuring.
It appears there have been 45 US military fatalities this month. See the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count for details- http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx I have to say I was a little shocked when I saw that #. Combat fatalities are not receiving the media attention they once did.
You would think the number killed in a given month would be newsworthy for the mainstream media. Well I guess we need more news about J Lo, and Beyonce. Now I must admit that it is generally more pleasant seeing images of them on the screen. Probably sells more goods, also.
