Still wouldn't have registered if it weren't for the mandatory registration around the time we were signing Shandn Andersn that worked this BBS into a frenzy (talk about much ado about nothing). I'm rather disappointed to see May 2002 as my registration date. I thought we signed SA in 1999?
actually it was required the day before or day after i registered, cuz i've also been watching this bbs and the main website since my dialup days years ago but never bothered registering to post till i had to
Ok, correction, I registered not when registration was required in general, but when registration was required in particular instances to view the board when it was over-burdened with traffic. In my case it was around Shandn Andersn signing (wanted to get up-to-the-minute news that you can only get here, instead of waiting for 4, 5, or 12 hours for the restriction to be lifted). Those were the good old days.... I recall the board going into that mode for a bit for the Pippen trade (again, much ado about nothing), but the SA signing generated far more traffic. Didn't see why then, and don't recall why now (even though that didn't keep me from clicking "refresh" like a maniac back then around that time). Another reason why I couldn't have registered in May 2002 is because I used my law school account to register (because this site did not accept Yahoo or Hotmail accounts), and I had to forward all registration information to myself much later when I graduated from law school -- in May 2002. Sorry to make this into a registration thread, but at least old timers reading this can reminisce a bit about (what's in my mind) the golden age of this BBS.
