I’ll go to a more simple explanation.... power and money. The HUGE turning point came around April 7th when the report came out that the virus was disproportionately hitting communities of color and of course nursing homes. Almost like that in the blink of an eye the right wing media on orders of their billionaires did everything they could to turn their sheep into angry mobs to protest the “re-opening” of the country. This is no accident. It’s about power. These people that fund FoxNews, Prager U, Brietbart, etc. have deep interest in well... death of the so called “nanny state” that they feel strips them of their wealth they feel they’ve earned in taxes that get re-distributed through social programs. So it should shock NOBODY that when the science showed itself to help the right wing billionaires if they could both get the stock market back up and running to make them more money and kill off a good number of the “nanny state” drains they despise... sounds like a great idea to force the “re-opening” by creating a protest mob. I think even they would be surprised at how well it super charged Trumps base and they were about as easy to egg on in a culture war with face masks as they were about Kapernick kneeling. So I think it has less to do with fear of losing in 20 than it does with the source of the protests and culture war (right wing media funded by entitled billionaires) and their ignorant jacked up cult who have been radicalized by Trumpism who will do anything they are asked to do by their clerics. I honestly believe that the Trump cult believes Trump will win and become the dictator they always dreamed of completely above the law. No more abortions. No separation of church and state. No immigration from brown of black countries... you name it. In case you’ve been living under a rock, 35% of the country wants nothing to do with Democracy anymore. Go ask Commodore, Dagger, Daschuda, you name it if they will stop supporting Trump if Biden wins the election but Trump stays in office through an illegal cou. I bet you 100 dollars not one of them would dare answer that question. I guarantee you every one of them would prefer a Trump cou than to lose the election to Biden and have Trump leave peacefully. That’s where we are folks. Power and money... and the potential fall of Democracy if they get their way.

I've been saying this crisis is exposing many of the big problems that have beset this country. This was one of the worst crisis we could face. It's not an external enemy, it's not something we can use our military against, and it requires long term sacrifice. Violence has already happened as a security guard was shot in MI after telling a customer to wear mask. An employee at a McDonalds in OKC was shot after telling a customer the dining room was closed.
It's a good thing Americans are using guns to protect their freedom of having a big mac when and where they want and not having to wear a mask if they choose not to do so. That's why we have the 2nd amendment. That's called MAGA
