I was channel surfing last night and caught this game on Fox Sports World. It was the second leg of the UEFA tournament. Since Celtic was up 1-0 on aggregate, Barcelona had to score 2 goals and shut out Celtic F.C. Man what a tense game, seemed like Barca had the ball on Celtic's side of the field the entire 2nd half. It was a great game even though Barca lost on aggregate. Man, those who complain about no goals should watch that game, even without any goals it was more intertaining than the NCAA game that was on at the same time. Just wondered if anyone caught it. Anyone know why Edgar Davids and Patrick Kluivert didn't play? Thanks. Peace.
Davids may be ineligible since h joined late, but I don't know about Kluivert. Didn't see the game myself, but I absolutely love Ronaldinho and Saviola. Ronaldinho can manipulaet a soccer ball with his feet in a way that many can't do with their hands. The guy is incredible.
Davids played for Juventus in the CL earlier in the season. Patrick Kluivert is still out with an injury.
DAVIDS JOINED LATE KLUIVERT HAS BEEN OUT OFR LIKE 4 MONTHS,, I THINK HES MAD CUZ THEY WONT RENEW HIM....
It's better for him to go to the Premiership anyway. He can be a star in the English league, possibly for Chelsea? Hopefully Liverpool.
I figured that was the case. Thanks. I agree with you completely. He, Beckham and Alesandro del Piero are the most overated players in the world. Ruud Van Nistlerooy is awesome but doesn't get the recognition those guys do. Peace.
I disagree about Beckham, because it seems like more people say he's overrated than say he's great. He is the best crosser in the world by a long shot. One of top 3 or so free kick takers in the world as well. He is one of top 3 or 5 right wingers in the world. I think Real is misusing him in the center. Del Piero's hype came mostly from 1998 or so, before he blew his knee out. Del Piero is also in and odd position at Juve. Nedved is the main playmaker while Trezeguet is the target striker. Del Piero doesn't have a true role on the team, imo. Similar to Saviola at Barca. I agree about Van Nistelrooy. He cannot score goals by himself like Henry or Ronaldo can. He relies completely on good service to set him up with easy chip shots.
He's a really good player but much of the hype he receives are for his fashion sense and looks. Most of the attention he gets is for off the field things then what he does on the field. He is definetly one of the best crossers and free kick takers but that doesn't make him a complete player. I would much rather have a guy like E. Davids or Zidane who can dominate and control the midfield. I like Beckham but he is overhyped. Peace.
