Hasn't this proposal been hammered into the ground in at least a dozen other threads??

Rather than stating the obvious fact that it would give Chicago "star power" there is no other reason Chicago would even consider such a ridiculous offer.

Let's take a breather from trade proposals. No rational conjectures can be made until 1) we know the draft order and 2) we ascertain a clearer picture of the Bobcat puzzle.

To tell the truth! ! Though I am too glad, I suspect that bulls will not accept.
1.The contract of Francis is too big, unable balance .
2.Change a score PG by a good PURE PG and one 1st round pick. What profit can be pursued ? ? I think I want to add ANTONIO DAVIS and CATO, there is Cuttino Mobley, and PACER do a tripartite trade.

    Bulls£ºAl Harrington£¬Francis¡£

    Pacers£ºCuttino Mobley,CATO,Maurice Taylor.

    Rockets:Hinrich,1st round pick(Bulls),ANTONIO DAVIS,Austin
    Croshere.

    Three cubic meters are favorable¡£

Judging from the thread so far and the poll results, I'd say half are for and half are against, meaning that the trade would probably be fair to both sides.
Some have said that the trade would be impossible for financial reasons, but I guess I should've said in my first post that the Rockets would be taking back a garbage contract (like Williams or Robinson) in order to make it work - that cap relief would be another reason for the Bulls to give up so much in return for Steve.
Still say the Bulls wouldn't do it? Do you really think they plan to build around Hinrich? He's only a complementary player, though a very good one. Do you really think the Bulls want to add another young frontcourt player to their roster when they're already trying to develop two other kids there?
The point I'm trying to make is that if Elton Brand can fetch a high pick, why not Steve?
All that being said, I'd move Steve for as little as Hinrich and Tyson Chandler. When you look at shooting percentage and assist-to-turnover ratio, I don't see Steve as being that much better than Cat. Sure, he rebounds like a forward, but with someone like Chandler out there, we'd have more than enough rebounding.

Furious Jam,Brand is a solid frontcourt PF with size. Steve is neither a point guard nor a shooting guard. He is a scorer but the Bulls can improve their team without taking Francis.

Your statement is problematic. The point I'm trying to make is that if Elton Brand can fetch a high pick, why not Steve? Certainly can't! ! Elton Brand is house phone sportsmen, NBA each team will welcome him, because rare. May well ask , does NBA lack the PG ? ? Will only score, PG that will not pass? ? Let it be, seek truth from facts some. The mistake in the past, always cause some losses, it was not the dream that would have now, but the revision mistake as soon as possible, get on the right track! !

    Furious Jam,

The results are actualy a resounding yes, with most of those who voted "No" voting No because they don't think Chicago would do it.

No one in their right mind would keep Steve over Hinrich and our choice of Okafor or Howard.

How about if we did something like Steve and Mobley for Antonio Davis, Eddie Robinson, Hinrich and their pick? I still don't see them doing it.

We'd be much beter off if we improved marginally in other ways rather than hammering our cap situation by taking on yet another expensive PF. I'd rather simply sign Antonio McDyess and Damon Jones for example.

The unwisely one. Excuse me for saying so , but no team will admit Steve and Mobley at the same time , there is a disaster like that. Must separate . McDyess health is problematic, will not Damon Jones be be organized, will you want a second-class Steve? ?

Steve and Mobley for Antonio Davis, Eddie Robinson, Hinrich and their pick?

Do you joke? ? A bit more actual, if Francis trade for Antonio Davis +their pick already very difficult, is it a fantasy even more that Mobley trade for Hinrich +Eddie Robinson? ?

Sane, I agree that the Bulls don't do a Hinrich for Steve and #1, even if we take on their bad contracts. However, I wonder why you feel like such a trade would be bad for the Rockets capwise. Sure taking on a killer contract like Davis' would suck. But we would also be losing Steve's contract at the same time and none of the Bulls' bad contracts are as long as his. Unless the trade exception was used, I think we're actually better off capwise in such a trade.

    Hey Furious Jam,

At the moment, it looks like 47% FOR, 52% AGAINST.

But I wonder how many of the "AGAINST" voters don't disagree with a "trade" per say, but rather just not *this one.*

Some don't like Hinrich, but would love to have Okafor.

Steve earns most of his salary, although not all.

Antonio Davis, if he were an FA this offseason, wouldn't be able to net a penny over the MLE.

His production has declined steadily in the past 6 years or so. It is easy to see that he's aging considerably after every season, and when he decided to go to a lottery team from a playoff team, I thought to myself this guy doesn't even have the fire anymore.

His contract shoots up every year, while his production shoots down. You don't want to have hit at 38 years old getting paid 15M and struggling to hit 40% of his shots like Allen Iverson.

I'm fine taking Jerome Williams. But not Antonio Davis, unless the trade includes their pick and Hinrich.

I've seen the Bulls do worse, time & again.
Anyway, if they wouldn't bite, I'd still like to do Francis for Hinrich and Chandler. Tyson is only 21 and I think he could develop quickly in the next couple of years.

oh i want to add, okafor looks better and better the more i see him play. i wouldn'd mind that Luol Deng. good player -- may become an excellent defender. not as NBA ready though. Deng... before the season i'd never heard of him, so i thought he was chinese or something. you know like deng xiao-ping.

The only thing about Tyson is that he has back troubles, and his offensive game is suspect. But I voted no because I still like Steve and just hope that he can put it together in the playoffs.

I would gladly eat all the Bulls bad contracts, to make that deal.

They can have everyone not named Yao. I'll live with Hinrich, Yao, and Okefour.

Jerome Williams is a nice pickup. AD can give a bit better than Cato, still. E Rob can sometimes play.

Sure, I'll swap our trash for their trash. Go ahead Chicago. Take Taylor, Cato, even Cat. Whatever.

Kirk, Oke, and Yao are Champs with Tmo and JHawk.

Why does everyone still want to trafe Francis? This dude is the only guy on this team that gives 100% effort on both sides off the floor every game. He is the heart and soul of the team and with him the Rockets would be well below .500. If it wasn't for Francis the Rockets wold get killed on the boards each night. He has to be a Rocket for life. I would rather get rid of Van gundy then the "Franchise".

Wait and see what happens in the playoffs first.
Francis might just show the heart of a champ and take over.
