Someone help me out here. I've been trying to figure out how Mike Flynn was 'entrapped' as the right is painting it. I get that there was some devious cr@p behind the FBI's interview with him. But he did lie. So even if the exculpatory evidence gets him off, nothing changes the fact that he lied when asked if he had spoken to the Russian ambassador. There is this persistent narrative coming from the right that this story is going to 'blow the whole thing open'. What 'whole thing'?? Was he supposed to be read his Miranda rights before he spoke with the FBI? Regardless, how does exposing some dirty FBI work that has already been exposed become the rallying cry from the right? Hell, the Q nuts are even saying this one is gonna expose everything. I'm hoping that someone who has followed this can explain. And I doubt there's more than one or two on this board who might know. @bigtexxx or @mick fry possibly? He lied. They're crooked. Non-story. It's in the past.
He's a traitor and should face the consequences of being such. I could name a few others but I wanna keep enjoying the free life.
Did he commit treason or are you saying that because you don't like him? I haven't seen anything that points to treason.
I would like to hear Nook's take on this. Some are asserting that interviewing him with the intention of potentially catching him in a lie was entrapment. I get that the government is not supposed to tempt its citizens into a crime, but I have no idea where the line is. It seems like most/all stings would be with the intent of catching someone in a crime. And I assume it is pretty common for the FBI to interview folks knowing they may either incriminate themselves or lie -- thereby committing a crime. @Nook ?
No he is pretty damn treasonous. He literally is a foreign agent of Turkey. Like literally. Are you new Michael Flynn? Honestly not trying to be a dick but I do feel like people that watch Trump tv didn’t get a lot of important facts about Flynn. I mean everyone has to make money to feed their family but if you literally are being paid by foreign governments to do work for them you would be a traitor by secretly disclosing that when you’re one job is to get foreign security guidance to the commander in Chief. You couldn’t have picked a worse person to be NSA. If Australia paid me a million to work on their behalf I might take it but I have no place taking a job with the country that is in conflict with Australia’s interest. Yeah F Flynn. Guy can rot in jail.
Funny thing is though. He is also an idiot. The guy was hours away from no jail time and decided at the last minute to throw some BS into his sentencing statement that forced the judge to make him cooperate more and he then went broke with legal fees and had to hire pro bono Trumper lawyers who have went down this road of thinking it’s better get sent to jail and then pardoned then it would be to do a few hours of community service. Dumbass as well as a traitor.
It's entrapment just as much as trumpybear is "trapped" by the media on a daily basis by, you know, asking him questions. No one made Flynn lie. No one made him admit to that in court. He's toast.
It is well established that McCabe deceived Flynn about the true purpose of the call, convincing him to allow two FBI agents to drop by the White House for an innocuous chat. The perjury trap was set. The documents made public on Wednesday exposed the underlying “goal” behind the visit with Flynn: “to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired.” Let’s think about that for a moment. Since when is it the business of the FBI to get a person fired? Is it the job of the bureau to get people to lie so that they can be charged with the crime of lying? Can officials simply invent or create a crime extemporaneously? https://thegreggjarrett.com/michael...ecuted-an-innocent-man/?utm_source=socialflow Despite all of their scheming and calculating, the perjury trap failed miserably. Flynn told the truth. As noted in my last column, the subsequent FBI report stated that Flynn gave no indication of deception It concluded that “Strzok and (redacted FBI agent) both had the impression at the time that Flynn was not lying or did not think he was lying.” But truth and honesty were alien concepts to special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of ruthless prosecutors. Utilizing the full force of the federal government and its unlimited resources, they intimidated and bullied Flynn into pleading guilty to a crime they knew he did not commit. All of the exculpatory evidence of his innocence was suppressed and concealed. The Mueller team, according to Flynn, threatened to prosecute his son unless the father capitulated to their demands. That aspect of his coerced plea was also hidden from the court when Flynn finally threw in the towel. Destroyed financially, he was forced to sell his home.
Wow, greg jarrett, I'm surprised he is taking a pro trump position. Guess all those years on CourtTV are paying off.
You have no idea if he lied. Whats important to remember is the FBI had the transcript of the call long before talking to Flynn. They knew he had done nothing wrong when they interviewed him. They had no reason to interview him.
It's my understanding that he lied when they asked him if he had spoke to the Russian ambassador? What's not clear is the context of how the question was asked. I mean was it phrased in a way he inadvertently lied? They listened in on the call so they already knew the answer. So after watching Tucker tonight: The reason to entrap him is to force him out of the job. Why would they want to do that? He's got intelligence experience and would probably be in a position to know about the ongoing FBI investigation and would alert Trump. -- according to Andrew McCarthy. As far as being a traitor: Turkey is an ally. By definition he's not aiding and abating the enemy by being a lobbyist. So I'm back to: He lied and the 'usual suspects' in the FBI were carrying out their political agenda.
Amazing people are trying to defend Flynn This guy tried to essentially kidnap a cleric and send him to Turkey for 15 million dollars. He is a complete scumbag and deserves to spend his life in jail. He admitted to lying to the FBI and cooperate to avoid numerous other charges. There continues to be no bottom to the levels Trump and cult will sink too.
No it isn't entrapment. There only needs to be an investigative purpose for conducting an interview, even if you are aware the person being interviewed may lie. Investigative "purpose" is also interpreted broadly. He lied and committed a crime and plead to the crime. Also all the discussion about "pressure" on him is what happens when you are charged with a federal crime and facing serious consequences.
jfc, people here actually think only guilty people plead guilty? Utterly naive as to how our corrupt justice/plea system works. Flynn's attorney clearly has sources inside DoJ feeding her information. Here she is in early March describing the Flynn exoneration memo that was released today.
Ask yourself this question, if Flynn was cleared of all wrong doing on January 4th, why was he being investigated afterwards? For what investigatory reason did Comey bypass WH Counsel to send agents to interview Flynn? Why did McCabe tell Flynn he did not need a lawyer, when the highest levels of the FBI were preparing for the Flynn interview as a criminal matter?
If he had nothing to hide... Anyways, it’s odd neither side will pass anything remote to reform the system. Just finger pointing on who drew foul. Trump was in power with a full congress. DO SOMETHING. The FISA process was corrupt in your eyes? FIX IT. Quit complaining and start acting like the ruling party.
just the opposite all Flynn had to do was to tell the truth. The FBI asked "did he talk to the Russians officials" Flynn chose to lie to the FBI about his inteactions w the Russian officials it is as simple as that not only did Flynn lie to the FBI, he also told the same lie to VP Pence, who repeated that lie in public
