How could China contain it when the virus was unknown, the source of it was unknown, the test kit was not available, the WHO was not there to help while Trump's USA made it over one million after the virus was known, the test kits were available and after 3 months of preparation? I dunno. Viruses and bacteria have existed for roughly 1.3 billion years longer than humanity has on this Earth. I think it more likely a virus mutated from a local market than accidentally released from a lab. The cost of domesticating animals and living alongside them is the occasional chance something not deadly to them may be passed to you and become deadly. Also given that the virus is asymptomatic on carriers for days or weeks, I find it more likely someone that handles bats traveled to Wuhan and unknowingly infected the population there. Plus experts that would be capable of telling a lab engineered virus from one of nature have deduced that the virus was not man made. I like reading conspiracies as much as the next guy, but rarely are they ever truthful.
