For me, it is LinkedIn. I quit Facebook years ago and never had 'gram or Pinterest. I have a twitter but only follow specific people (statistical programmers, mainly).

LinkedIn is just the ****ing worst. The terrible, "inspirational" posts by those LinkedIn Influencers (who might actually be bots) produce eye-rolls that will lead to permanent eye damage. Companies constantly patting themselves on the back - and stooge employees commenting and "loving" all of their company's PR horseshit. Endless (bullshit) stories of people talking about how they overcame X because they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps blah blah. And then lastly, those recent university grads who post things like "honored and privileged to announce I have accepted [this role] at a tremendous company like X!"

Perhaps the only fun part about LinkedIn is seeing @dandorotik respond to some of the dumb posts people make on there.

I am actually surprised Linked in is still a thing.

When I worked as a recruiter in 08 I found it somewhat useful but I can't figure out how it would be useful now.

It does sound like it has turned into a PR tool.

I don't do any social media.

    Facebook or Pinterest.

Linkedin is a good way to connect still.

Toss up between facebook and pinterest. Facebook gives a platform to every single person to voice their goddam opinion to all their "friends" now. It used to be great when it was just for college students but now you have everybody telling you how they feel about this or that, why youre WRONG and update every single thing they do throughout the day. Facking annoying. I never deleted my FB, but I check it once every 4-5 months now.

Pinterest OTOH is annoying for the simple reason that some girl got craft at home and turned tinsil into a flower and now is trying to sell it and is charging $300 for that facking flower that cost $1 in material. Never had a pinterest account but get bombarded with recipe links to them when searching for recipes and really dont even know how to navigate it.

I’ve seen people b****ing about politics on linked in lately. Thought it was a safe zone.

Also saw a “linked in model” recently. A connection liked her post.

All of those have their problems. Of those listed I think Twitter has caused more damage. At least with Facebook there is a chance of more complexity and nuance and it's primarily limited to your friends. Twitter though is meant to wipe out any nuance or complexity and has debased how we use language. It's also impossible to avoid. I apologize for dragging politics into this but consider that Presidential tweets are actually official records. Consider what historians are going to make of the great fracture between what most Presidential records were prior to a Twitter President.

The worst social media platform though is TikTok. That is the Twitter of video and for those who complain about the PRC that is the biggest influence the PRC has on World culture.

Twitter. Everyone should have a voice, but not a public platform to use that voice.

Maybe I've been using TikTok wrong, but all I see are kids/teens/adults dancing to Drake videos.

I do think TikTok is the most popular social media platform these days amongst the under-30 crowd.

Idk why anyone would have a twitter, the only people I know with a twitter are quite old.

All the others have some utility at least

I use Instagram daily, Tik Tok once in a while, I have a facebook thats mostly unused except for keeping on contact w/ family

Twitter is by far the worst. Its turned into a political platform full of hacks. How is anyone suppose to make a meaningful thought with just a few characters. Its the exact opposite of where we should be going as a society.

It's not just politics too. It's sports also. I mean how many times do we have to deal with trade rumors or stories about a disgruntled player or front office turmoil because of a tweet..

It's run by the PRC and has security and malware issues.

Also do we need a lot of 10 second videos of people dancing badly?

And I'm writing this as someone who recently put out a video with some segments of bad dancing.

This. Twitter is poison, it's reckless, it's just mean. So many journalists, both political and sports, have a false sense of credibility and self value, they spit out vitriol and folks either eat it up or retaliate with vitriol of their own. It's a cesspool.

facebook, without a doubt. Overrun by political garbage. Linked in still has some professional value but it's value is diminished by people using it to sell their products and services. I immediately delete any sales reach I get through LinkedIn. I have no experience with others (instagram or the one where your picture gets deleted in a couple of minutes).
