    I always thought it was some BS . . esp since it seemed like only rich/well to do people got it

    No. It is absolutely bullcrap as a punishment especially if you wre rich and have a huge villa with pool, jacuzzi, sauna , huge garden and so.

    House arrest is appropriate depending on the crime. Stealing millions and ruining the lives of thousands of workers and pensioners should mean Jail Time...not I Got Put In The Corner Time

    Never thought about it. If I were rich I would not mind house arrest at all. Deliveries and dinner parties are still allowed unlike now so who cares.

    It hasn’t changed my opinion. But also I accept I’m not under house arrest. I can still go outside and exercise. Can still go shopping and even while many things are restricted My movements aren’t monitored.

    all depends if you are rich, or not
    Having a mansion, a pool, a gym, some even have a basketball court, or tennis court, and you can have parties in your house.
    its not the same.
