I bet somebody on this board is going to think next time before they go into a lake or the Gulf. Scary stuff.
If you could see all the things in the Gulf that are around you everytime you go swimming or surfing or something else - you'd never get in the water. But you needn't worry that much - Humans taste bad to stuff like sharks, too stringy and bony and ligamenty, not enough fat.
I'm pretty sure it's been shown that picture is fake, but Great Whites are crazy. There were some pictures I saw of them getting way out of the water like whales.
Here's the all time classic... I'm not sure if that picture of the wakeboarder is fake or not better check snopes...
The pic with the helicopter is fake, and I think I remember reading on snopes that the pic with the wakeboarder that the big fish is actually a dolphin, not a shark. I heart Snopes...
That seems pretty odd because it appears his tail is perpendicular to the sea floor. Dolphins tails are parallel to the sea floor. No matter what, I'd still have to swim back and change my undies after an experience like that. I'm not going to dispute the kind folks at snopes, but their lack of details does not eliminate the doubt in my mind.
I don't see that.....to me it looks like his tail is definitely perpendicular to his body, and his dorsal fin is definitely not that of a shark. Regardless, he sure looks big for a dolphin.
all you have to do is look at the snout...it is entirely too elongated to be a shark. most definitely shaped like a bottle nose dolphin...and dolphins can get to be a nice size when fully grown.
I think he looks like a shark but that' just a matter of my opinion. On the same note, I think my farts smell like roses.
I posted before checking the snopes link....and they have a link to the site of the photographer that took the original pic... http://www.surfshooter.com/DolphinInfo.html
The first concern is, ok, it's apparent that we now have landlocked sharks I've never heard about before! If these things are in lakes we have more problems than I first thought. But my second reaction to this is, dudes, there has to be more than one shark in there. It didn't just magically appear like the purple marshamallow in lucky charms.
