Anyone have this yet? Not Uverse, which I've had for years and love. AT&T is transitioning that out and using this. Wanted to see about setup for it; difficulty/ease of finding the app on smart tvs (particularly if they're not brand new smart tvs)...anything else you can tell me from experience with it. It seems like it's really new still, so not sure if anyone can help me here.
I've had ATT Uverse for years, and I love it. But they're moving away from that service. The new ATT TV service is still too new for me to feel comfortable with, especially since we're stuck at home for a while. I think I'm going to just hook up Comcast at the new house. It's the simplest option available to me.
Still signing people to contracts, I see. Says no cable box required, but it shows a device that they mail you anyway.
I had Directv Now which became ATT TV Now. I ended up dropping that for Youtube TV because ATT kept ramping up thecost until I was paying over $100 monthly. From what I've read, ATT TV is basically Directv on a streaming platform. You have to sign a 2 yr contract and it requires use of their Android TV device (which costs $120). Not sure if it will include their new HBO Max service. For myself, this is not as cost effective as Youtube TV or using your own streaming devices (Roku, Fire TV).
Last I checked, ATT TV did not carry ATT Sports SW which is weird. Also they make you dependent on their boxes. You can't install it on Roku, FireTV, etc
Pretty much but it is streaming tv - so not using Coax or any other special connections to the boxes. From what I read the boxes run on Android. So its kind of stupid that they wouldn't just let you install the app on other devices. Just want people to pay $ for those things. Also Uverse had AT&T Sports at least. I don't understand how AT&T doesn't have another thing that is part of AT&T
