Seriously, you think this is anything but a very minor walk back from the federal government abandoning testing (after every medical and scientific expert stated the importance of wide scale testing to defeat the virus)? Ready what you just wrote... the states can either do it themselves, or they can request federal oversight and assistance. And that help is supplies (which they seem slow to provide, materials (again, materials like swabs have been in very short supply), and contacts at testing sites. And what were the promises of the federal government? All people could get tested? Millions of tests?

@jcf. I think I understand your point of view that maybe we shouldn’t be criticizing Trump just for the sake of criticizing Trump. I also believe we should give him credit when he does something right. I gave him credit for rapidly signing the stimulus bills and helping overcome GOP opposition. I don’t think we should be giving him a break. I think the we the voters are the ultimate check and as such it is important that we speak out against our leaders when they don’t appear to be doing the job they are their to do. At the minimum we should be speaking out to let other voters know. I’m not going to pretend that posting in Clutchfans is going to make much of a difference. I think most of us are here to blow off steam and pass the time. I still learn stuff here and the debate does sharpen my own arguments that hopefully will help in trying to convince others on who to vote for.

He thinks Trump deserves a B because when people start dying, despite Trump's "chess Grandmaster" instincts (Navarro's recent televised compliment for the dear leader), then he starts listening to experts and throws his yes-men advisors under a bus. The question is: Why didn't Trump act or take this seriously? Almost like he wanted people to die. Did he really believe this was a Hoax and people were going to use it to hurt him?

Yeah. It was NPR. I For folks who are ostensibly participating in a debate and discussion site, some want neither. I haven't trolled nor advanced outrageous positions. What I have done is in a couple of posts expressed a slightly different viewpoint: One that certainly doesn't extol Trump but one that expresses the concern that some of the criticisms are over the top and one-sided. Most of the posters have been great about it. Some appear to immediately view anyone who doesn't express enough disgust or hatred for Trump as the enemy. It is a little sad.
I think @jcf deserves a break. He isn't a conspiracy theorist or a troll, or just dumb as a post, like some of trump's supporters here. He's simply giving his opinion. While I might disagree, I wish there were more like him. No need to pile on.
I agree with Deckard and I don’t think you’re here to troll and I don’t think you’re being unreasonable or posting nonsense.
At 500k+ tested +ve and 20k+ deaths, (both highest reported by any country), and, all the failures in leadership leading up and till date, I would call giving Trump any passing grade on his handling of the situation totally outrageous. I see you as an unrepentant apologist, who seems to be in denial about the terrible choice he has made in helping trump into office (and indirectly causing the deaths of thousands), and is trying to make it seem benign to ease the guilt.
