What is funny is when he isn't defending evil commies or crying racism at every corner, he actually makes reasonable posts. I think he largely defends them out of ignorance. When the communism or Chinese evil is extremely obvious he doesn't defend it though. But I think he has a special place in his heart for Marx whether conscious of it or not.
Editorial: Trump is playing a disgusting political game with our lives https://www.denverpost.com/2020/04/09/coronavirus-editorial-trump-gardner-polis-supplies/
trump is pushing the responsibility for the widespread testing needed off onto the states... and they don't have what's needed either...
@jcf This is not dealing with Trump's tweets, demeanor, treatment of the press or any of that. What is it about Trump's response that you believe earns him a B when dealing with the Covid19 Pandemic? If this were a University course, what has Trump done to earn the 3.0 GPA you gave to him?
I haven't once defended them. You guys are hilarious. Seriously you nor @Caprah can point to a single post where i have defended the CCP. This is a strawman of the worse kind.
Yeah, if you ask nice to the POTUS, he may help you with PPE's, despite lives being at risk. You just can't make this **** up. This is the America we now live. It's like having two viruses: Covid-19 and Trump.
I just read this a bit ago as well. I am trying to see what the explanation is (apart from the brief discussion in the article which really doesn't say more than the feds are shifting obligation down.) When I first read it, I was stunned. Now, I am hoping this doesn't tell entire story. My hope is that this will be offset by the next relief/stimulus bill that has been discussed to include more and significant dollars to state and local governments. I find it a bit hard to believe that the federal government is just abandoning its corona virus efforts re: testing.
Well, this is better news at least: The Department of Health and Human Services is stepping back from a plan to end support on Friday for community-based coronavirus testing sites around the country. Instead, the agency says local authorities can choose whether they want to transition to running the programs themselves or continue with federal oversight and help. The news came after NPR reported Wednesday that some local officials were critical of plans to end the program before the pandemic peaks. "The federal government is not abandoning any of the community-based test sites. I want that to be loud and clear," Adm. Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health, said during a conference call with reporters. Under the community-based testing site program, the federal government supplies expertise, testing materials, protective equipment and lab contracts to local authorities at 41 sites. Giroir says the program has been successful, testing more than 77,000 people so far, mostly health care workers and first responders. He says results show about 20% of those tested were infected with the coronavirus. More info at link: https://www.npr.org/sections/corona...pport-for-coronavirus-testing-sites-continues
As I said before the Administration isn’t doing everything bad and progress is being made. This though is another example of the confusion and chaos that is this Administration. That they made a policy change that appeared to be not well thought out and are having to back off of it now isn’t a way to instill confidence. This has happened many times before starting from day one with the travel ban where the Administration announced a policy with seemingly little thought (and was unconstitutional) that caused massive confusion. Then backtracking for months until they come up with something that can pass even the sympathetic courts. All of this goes to the top.
