Let's do the math ... The three CV hot spots are Washington state, California and New York state. None of the three states were part of Trump's 2016 roadmap to Electoral College victory. None of the three states will be part of Trump's 2020 roadmap to Electoral College victory. Trump does not ever forgive grievances. Trump goes out of his way to asymmetrically punish grievances, not matter how small. Trump is dragging his feet with the federal government's response to CV. I wonder how we can connect those dots. Is there any doubt that how Fox News, Hannity, Rush, et al would be responding if this was Obama or any other Democrat.
That is not to say the disease is harmless. Without question people will die from coronavirus. Those in vulnerable categories should take precautions to limit their risk of exposure. But we have seen this movie before. Government over-hypes a threat as an excuse to grab more of our freedoms. When the “threat” is over, however, they never give us our freedoms back.
rand paul's comms team trying to defend the senator. Did he go places including the gym and pool after he was getting tested? Seems so, and so his selfish and thoughtless movements instead of self quarantine were shameful and he deserves the criticism he is getting... and his comms efforts to narrow down this to "after getting the test results" is more shameful and dishonest.
You and Ron Paul think that once this is over, we're still not going to be able to gather in groups, go to parks, concerts and sporting events, travel, go to a movie, etc., etc., etc.? What freedom do you think will be stripped permanently once this is over?
I think the issue for Rand is that apparently he took the test not believing he had actually been exposed. That's why he carried on his normal routine.
A significant percentage of people with CV showed no symptoms, so "believing I was well", despite having a test, is not a good excuse. Rare when I agree with lindsey graham...
