It's interesting to me to hear a pope be so blunt regarding creation and evolution -- though the Catholic Church has typically had a stronger science base with their academy. Francis tends to be more open and direct about these issues than Benedict or John Paul.

Very interesting. Of course the church has a history of just taking whatever people believe in and adopting it... maybe rebranding it...

    lol Cardinal Glick would approve.

It's kind of a strange time for him to bring this up. You'd think during a global pandemic, he should be addressing what is a bit more relevant to people's lives.

I'm still trying to figure out how this article was put in my feed. It's good info though so I won't beat myself up too much.

This is a trip. My significant other is a non-practicing Catholic, and went to Catholic schools through middle school. It's why her handwriting is beautiful. I think the nuns stood over you with a ruler and whacked your hand with it if you screwed up. Her late uncle was a priest and a missionary for many years in working class areas of Tokyo, Japan. He even learned to speak Japanese. Not easy. My daughter learned how because of her interest in anime. She asked for and we bought the entire Rosetta Stone language lessons, which she inhaled, and then she took it in college. She's freakishly smart. Must have skipped a generation. Anyway, my SO's uncle would have had a heart attack if he was still living. He had enough trouble dealing with the switch from Latin. Hated it.

    Apparently, I'm a pagan.

I'm a bit surprised that this is in D&D. Is it really that controversial?
