    This isn't healthy.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/09/politics/cdc-policy-test-kits-coronavirus/index.html

Fissures widen between White House and health agencies over coronavirus

Fissures between the White House and national health agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, have begun to expand as the coronavirus pandemic spreads to more American states, creating dissonance between President Donald Trump and the professionals tasked with containing the virus further.

The two sides have grown increasingly distrustful of one another, people inside both the CDC and the White House say, as officials on each side question decisions that either appear designed to downplay the growing crisis or to generate further concern.

The problem with Trump is he wants to win the minute by minute media coverage. So he's lied and spun the story and it makes people nervous. Instead of lying about the testing they should have just been honest up front about it being complicated and that we'd ramp up. When they lie about it people wonder why they are hiding information.

Yeah, just showing compassion and stepping aside at a news conference to allow an expert to answer the question was surprisingly refreshing.

He has been lying from the start and it got him elected. He has no incentive to change now.

Well, it's not about motivation. He has been marketing untruth for so long that he has no other gear available. He just cannot change course and the sooner people realize that, probably the better. "Why doesn't he just tell the truth and show compassion too?" Yeah, if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass a hoppin'.*

If this thing is heading to an extended shutdowns across America, small busn (restaurants, salon, retailers, ..) sure could use some of the $28B in bailouts to farmer that trump caused due to his voluntary trade wars in good time. These are the type of government policy choices that have real consequences down the road, especially in crisis like now where the fed gov can step in to help out small businesses.

I don’t blame Trump for the pandemic. I blame him for diminishing the tools needed to stave off and recover from a recession. His unnecessary tax cuts to the rich, his pressure and demands on the fed rates. The amount of deficits he is run with the red hot economy. He has weaken the tools needed with this upcoming downturn. You pick

Great point. I’ve been saying for awhile that since we used the tools that normally would be used to fight a recession to turbocharge the expansion they will be far less effective once a downturn hits. We’re seeing that now.

The problem is what we already know, that he doesn’t know how to do his job. He only knows how to lie. His gross incompetence in mishandling the Coronavirus is scaring the hell out of the market and the public. The daily litany of lies are impossible to ignore, and amplified by a crisis we haven’t experienced in generations, if ever. The country is frightened. I certainly am.

    case in point,

while Traitor_George is entitled to his opinion, he is not entitled to fabricate his own facts

    here are the facts:
when obama took office the DOW was at 7,949; DOW as at 24,289 when he left office, an increase of >16,000

when the dotard took office, the DOW was at 24,289, today the DOW closed at 23,851, a decline of ~ 430

over this past week-end, Trump's handler (Putin) tried to meddle w the OPEC's oil production , which led to a global stock market meltdown on Mon. all US stock indices fell > 7% on Monday

the weakling that currently occupies the WH is scared sh*tless to complain to his handler

Corporate America have been using low-interest loans for stock rebuys for years now. Now when cashflow is tight they'll get a bailout from the treasury department. Its sickening that the only person whos suffers are ordinary citizens. We'll see negative interest rates by the summer. Ordinary citizens are the only ones who get ****ed.
