Small ball is a high risk strategy, apparently one Morey was willing to take as he saw we were not going to win with traditional center sets. This is an all or nothing choice, if the open 3’s aren’t falling at baseline percentage you risk losing. If they don’t fall like last night it’s a loss and there’s nothing anyone can do. Our backup is driving the rim but the 3s open that up. We have to face it this is what it is.

It's frustrating because I wanted small/skill ball to work. And Rockets couldn't adjust against a playoff bound team. I would like a reporter to ask if players feel the game comes easy. Or if it feels it has to be maximum effort all the time, even on the wins.

Watching recent games feels like Rockets is pulling on a slot machine waiting for that big payout.

This was one of those "litmus test" games.

Yeah, it's not happening for the Rockets this season, lol.

How many of those Clips teams had 2 time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard on it?

These Clippers are a way different team than any of the ones from the past. Get with the times.

I'm still not into the whole hype of the Clippers but they are deep. Still see where they are weak at they just gotta be attacked. PG playing and not even 100%.

    Good test. Bad results.

This account has been saying this the last couple of games vs the clips. You can tell they were not at their best yet.

We went out to play another regular season game, Clips came out to make an statement.

I'm sad because I became really attached to James Harden and Daryl Morey, and to some extent, to DAntoni. Proud that we had made a stand against one of the all time best.
It may be the end of the road for this version of us.

I saw a clipper team that could beat anyone. So versitile; so much depth and the size to scale to any opponent. The clips are just a better team. Now we know where we stand.

Still a work in progress. If we played correctly and got the shots we wanted, yes we may proclaim small ball not working. Not saying it will necessarily work but we didn't in fact play small ball. You don't dribble drbble then take a 30 feet contested 3 with no rebounder underneath. You may do that if a big is switched on to you. You don't boneheadly force it to the teeth of their defense and then turn it over or pass it to the teammate for a bailout. Drive and kick or keep the ball hopping to a spot where our advantage lies. Everyone has to buy in. Old habbits die hard. I am glad the Coach expressed disappointment.

Positive thinking ... the Clippers exposed a lot of mistakes and bad habits of ours hidden by in the win streak. A lot to work on.

    Incorrect.

Small ball works well. There are clear advantages to it and it has beaten many good teams.

3 pointers or nothing is what's wrong with the Rockets. They are easy to defend, and they are easily combustible when things go wrong. There is no secondary attack or counters when shots aren't hitting, and that's why they lose. And that is not related to small ball. That has been the Rockets downfall nearly every time in the Morey/Harden era. They simply have to take advantage of opportunities elsewhere on the court and become a less predictable team.

The Clippers are great, no doubt. But the Rockets generated tons of wide open looks and willingly passed up many more in the mid range area. They had plenty of opportunities to beat them, but have to prioritize more aspects of offense. I'm not worried about our ability to match up with them, but more so worried about our ability to adapt to what they're giving us.

Rockets beat Kawhi led Clips 2× this season.

If you are going to panic post, at least do your due diligence.

CF needs to take deep breath and climb off the ledge.

The Rockets have made 20 or more threes 11 times this season. They are 10-1 in those games.

When they make 17 or more threes, they are 18-3.

When they make 12 or less, they are 6-9.

When they make less than 10 threes, they are 1-3.

Even national media saying you need to calm down.
