I voted for her, knowing this could happen. Ah well, maybe another time.

The establishment in their panic may have overplayed their hand on this one. Klobuchar is very popular in Minnesota where Bernie beat Hillary and now they have replaced Hillary with Biden. Some polls early showed Klobuchar beating Sanders by a good margin iirc , though it has gotten tighter. Supposedly just a day or so ago Biden was urging her to stay in.

Klobuchar just gave a very classy endorsement of Biden. Well done.

ANDDDD Biden just tried to close out the night before being reminded he had to bring out and acknowledge Beto :D

I agree. Sanders was already doing well in MN and this is a big bonus for him. The only hope is that Klobuchar (and Buttigieg's) name is still on the ballot plus there have been weeks of early voting. What I guess though is that even losing MN, where Biden doesn't have much of a chance. It was more important to not dilute the moderate vote in other states.

I donated twice to Klobuchar's campaign and don't regret it. I still think she had the best balance of positions and also could make inroads into ex-urban and rural districts which no other Democrat running could. I get the feeling there might be something in the works and VP Klobuchar might be a possibility along with it being a proud Minnesota tradition.

She needs to have a better structure around her if she runs again. I believe she as a candidate can win but her campaign wasn’t very good... from announcing her candidacy in a comical snow storm, to not handling the “mean” claims, to apparently knowing nothing about Hispanic culture...

She needs to pick a couple of groups of voters that she believes she can win and go about winning them over at the grass roots level.

We can say what what we want about Sanders but his network is the best going. They have left no stone unturned. Buttigieg as well.

Agreed except about the “mean” claims. That story broke over a year ago and died rather quickly. There was an op-ed signed by 60+ current and former staffers defending her and saying they enjoyed working for her. Nobody was asking about that now. While it’s true it could have hurt her momentum coming out of the gate, I think the bigger issue was name recognition.

Bottom line: it’s hard to run against a Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Let alone whenever you’re not an established national figure or household name....or a billionaire.

She’ll learn from this. I think she’ll get a cabinet position. Likely AG. She’s more than qualified for VP, but I think it’s fairly obvious he’s going to select an African American female. Same with Pete - definite cabinet material.

The only way minority voters are going to warm up to these two is by becoming bigger political figures. I’m fairly confident that, for the purposes of running for President, if you asked both Pete and Amy if they would rather be: a billionaire or household name, they would have chosen the latter. You get there by being relevant on a national level.

Agreed on her team, though. I followed this campaign closely and was never blown away by their structure, leadership or messaging. Granted, the lack of funding was the underlying and crippling issue, and it forced them to exhaust almost all of their resources into Iowa and NH. They felt their only option was to overbook her on every network interview imaginable to utilize the free press, and hope for a miracle later on.

Also, and I hate to even say this: she needs a new hairdo. One they can’t parody on SNL. She also needs to get new lines and limit the corny mom jokes. If they’re circulating clips of you online saying the same thing repeatedly, then you’re doing something wrong.

Hard to say, could be Harris or her or even Pete. There are some choices for VP, wonder who Biden would pick. All I know is it won't be someone in their 70s.
