17 Ts may be too bad for SF3. But if we looked through what happened when SF3 got those Ts, we may understand more behind Ts. When Amere dunked over YAO twice, it is SF3 who stood out to apply for his T. Why? When SF3 complained about Refs' BS calls, what were SF3's motivations? I don't say all Ts that SF3 got are for YAO only. But SF3 indeed tried his best to protect YAO and his team.
Your title does not match your post. The title should be: "SF3 paid penalty for Yao and had yet to grow up" Let me repost my message from the game thread: The refs do have serious problems with their officiating. That being said, I have observed this pattern in Stevie's part: For a quite a few occasions in different games, when SF believed a bad call had just been made, he stopped playing the game and let oppoent players score in an uncontested play. For example, after a Shaq kickball without a wistle, SF3 stopped playing to complain while the game was still in procession and Shaq picked up the ball and put the ball in the basket. The incidence you described above is another example. Costly immaturity. This habit has proved detrimental to the team.
Please do not say you beleive Francis' lack of defense in those situations lost the Rox those games. Especially vs. the Kings when Yao couldn't keep himself in the game. maybe 2 of his fouls were false but he still had 4 mistakes and the last one very costly.
I'm sorry but Steve was right to be ticked off that game. 13 free throws to their 31. And it's NOT because they were the more aggressive team. They were called for all of 1 foul in the first quarter. In that same quarter, Yao & Spoonman both picked up 2 quick ones. We entered the game already missing Cato. Funny our big men were strapped with foul trouble the ENTIRE GAME. I call BS just like Franchise. BS calls. BS refs.
What? SF got tripped by Shaq and fell to the ground, Shaq then picked up the ball and dunked it. I don't think there is a single player that can fall on the ground, get back up, and block a Shaq dunk in little of time. I don't know if SF's Techs are for Yao or not, but they are definitely coming out of frustration. There are a lot of calls the refs aren't calling for SF, and that would piss anyone off.
I tot it has been noted by quite a few members here that against Kings, SF laid down on the floor because he was knock in the groin area.... Unless one is a woman or have no balls, one would know that it is not that easy to get back up after getting knock hard there......
LOL. I think you're right. Steve needs to put aside the anger even though those calls are BS, and channel his energy to destroy his opponent. I appreciate Steve's standing up for this team.
