Nice and brief article about how effective Jeff Green has been since being picked up off of the clearance rack for pennies. Posting career best numbers. D'Antoni's system and coaching seems to elevate and unlock players. Ben McLemore is another example. James, Russ, the list goes on. . . . https://spacecityscoop.com/2020/02/27/houston-rockets-uncovered-gem-jeff-green/
Why mention the 89.6% TS lol. It's like, we know that's not realistic and we know it will come down to 52-54% by the time we have a large enough sample size. The more important question is how will Green play during big games. He's had good runs in the past but he has also had bad runs. If he can give us another good run, man that will really help out.
But IMPRESSIVE nonetheless. We're averaging 144 points per possession with him on the floor! YIKES Let's just hope the magic doesn't wear off anytime soon
I was skeptical of Green, but if he can stay somewhat consistent in his effort, he may become the steal of the year. He's been a perfect fit on both ends. Things are really starting to look up.
Just a perfect backup C. Better than I could have dreamed. 15 minutes a game to be Tim Thomas is PERFECT. 6. Eric Gordon 7. Austin Rivers 8. Ben McLemore 9. Jeff Green is going to get the first crack as the playoff bench, but DeMarre is creeping.
As a 7th wheel on the team, the Rockets are not asking Green to do much. Get some rebounds, play some D, and shoot those wide open 3s for which he's greenlighted (lol) just because is MDA's system. He doesn't even need to create for others, so think about his play as a plug-in-play where any player of decent talent can thrive.
most people will just see the BMac 3 but the Green left handed pass under the basket in traffic, right in the pocket is a pretty rare thing. A developed skill. certainly very few on this team could actually make that pass. There isn't anyone like him on this squad
You mention it because it’s an outlier even with the greater standard deviations that come with a smaller sample size. This is the definition of something you investigate further after initial testing. It’s true that it may revert to 52-54, but to think that it isn’t worth investigating further with the data you have now is frankly, stupid.
