Techs are overrated? Overrated statistically (Malone)? Or overrated in championships(Sheed)? Heh heh...:D

I'd say they have a HUGE impact on your play when the PRESSURE IS ON. Especially the play-offs. Karl Malone was known to "loose his cool" and sometimes cost him some games. I shouldn't even have to tell you about Sheed play-offs meltdowns.

All I'm saying is that "techs" should give you picture of a players fortitude (or lack thereof) when the presure is on.

If Steve gets suspended then Vlade should too because he cussed the Refs with the same word. Also ESPN replayed what happened nad you can hear what Vlade said in the replay

whereas in steve's case. he knew he was on ESPN live...

he screamed it out at the top of his lungs - so I'm not sure how you can say he didn't say it for the public to hear.

Steve is the whiniest player in the NBA, he fakes or feigns injury at least 2 or 3 times a game.

The fans know this, the announcers know it, and so do the refs.

Steve should just shut up and play ball. Then he would get some calls.

I don't get what the big ******* deal is!? The idea of "bad words" are just so stupid to me, but whatever. It would be ludicrous and r****ded if Steve gets suspended for saying BS.

What I meant by public was ON TV.

I haven't heard anybody getting suspended for saying such word OFFLINE.

So Vlade didn't know the game was televised? What's the difference between what they did - both were frustrated, both let it get the better of them, and both cursed.

Is it because Jim Grey wasn't there to poke a mike in Vlade's face?

    Pued,

Come on, you can't be serious.

One is in an interview, Steve is a professional he knows what the microphone is for, and the other was yelling at a ref.....and that happens all the time.

I don't think that Francis deserves to be suspended, but I'm pretty sure that criticizing the refs is an automatic fine.

pau gasol is pissed that you just tried to steal away his title.

and now kobe is pissed at pau for trying to claim what's rightfully his.

and what they both don't know is that tim duncan's sitting there admiring the actual whiniest player trophy, with his name firmly imprinted on the outside, as we speak.

yes, but that interview came right as he came off the court, its not like he went back into the lockerroom changed and showered and then cursed, he'd just walked off the court and was upset - Both Steve and Vlade did the exact same thing - curse loudly and obviously in frustration.

ESPN is totally at fault here as well, and should have thought better of using Francis as an interview subject... especially since he had just barely gotten picked up off the court, and should have been heading to the lockeroom as soon as possible.

Notice that they'll never interview JVG during a game, or right as he's walking off at halftime... why? because they use better judgement that he won't ever be in the best of moods.

Steve is normally an OK interview guy, but they should have applied that same line of reasoning in this case as well.

Does anybody ever get anything out of the halftime interview anyways? I mean, if they were to ever abolish it, would any of you miss it? Do you ever read in the paper the next day, and notice a quote from somebody at halftime?

Its a dumb interview, and they SHOULD do away with it... along with celebrities in the stands interviews. The ONLY thing sideline reporters should be reporting on is strategy that they "over-hear" during the timeouts, and player's reactions on the bench.

Sadly, Ahmad Rashad and Hanah Storm were the best at this. Gray is a great investigative reporter, but not one player voluntarily likes to talk to him... thus making him an AWFUL sideline reporter.

Pued you are right, I mean that was just as obvious. It was so easy to hear him yell it. And then they replayed it on tv.

I heard Vlade as easily as I heard SF. What I didn't like is how Grayes followed Stevie when he stayed away from the camera as if he was hoping for some more cussing to get Stevie in even more trouble. Steve got hit in the nads, it was damn obvious what happened. He was punched in the nuts and there was no call, that is why he was on the ground.....he was in serious pain.

Stevie will be fined no doubt, but I hope he doesn't get suspended. We suck so badly with out him. It is evident when he misses games, or whenever he goes out to rest.

Correct me if im wrong, but shaq got suspended for dropping an f-bomb then droping another another after he was told he was on live tv. Shaq was on local tv and not cable tv. From what i understand programming on cable tv is different because people pay for it and the rules are not as tight for the use of words. I have heard words such as **** and b****, but never the F-bomb. Shaq and steves situation is alot different becauese shaq was a post game interview and steves was right after the got clocked in the nuts.

Steve will for sure get a fine but a suspension is questionable.
