I don't think it's surprising at all with the issue caught in this political tug-o-war. Democrats would be likely to talk up the certainty that Russian interference impacted the election. And Republicans were looking to vilify the fabled Deep State by making a caricature of their arguments. But I agree with you that obviously there'd be no way to measure the impact of an influence campaign.

The better question is 'what would the 2018 election been like without the russia hoax?' which was russia/clinton misinformation.

 

There’s the proverbial “straw that broke the camel’s back”....I think Russian Interference was more than a few pieces of straw.

 

I think Trump won the day Comey opened the investigation on Hillary because of dirty Weiner's hard drive.

She had a decent debate the night before where she made good inroads but when I read the headlines the morning after, I thought, yeah she's done.

Even made a desperation thread on here to persuade Bernie voters to vote because some things from their platform was better than no things
