Yes, it does and that is the lowest it's been in years. When I signed up with them 1 1/2 years ago it was close to 4%. If anyone is interested in trying ING out, you can get a $25 bonus for putting as little as $1 into the account. The catch is you need a referral, which I would be happy to provide Of course I get something to.....a $10 referral bonus, so all parties are happily compensated. Shoot me an email if interested.
Invest it. That's an easy question. No use sticking it in the bank to rot at absurdly low interest rates.
Cool thanks guys. After debts and home repairs here in San Antonio, the rest I will save and/or invest. Will look in to Roth IRA as well as getting on an IMG website and see what I can do with some money....(Rocketspimp, I might be emailing you about it actually) *Now just pray the closing on my sold home in H-town goes as scheduled (remember Feb.27th) and I actually get my money!
Do they pay you interest each month or yearly? And by chance, is your ING savings account linked to Wells Fargo? Does Wells Fargo charge a fee for electronic transfers? I’m a little edgy about an Internet Bank, but from everything I’ve read about ING, it’s worth it. Can you or DoD hook me up with the referral link for new customers? Thanks. Email: lnguy@imap.cc
I've got a good amount of money "rotting" in a low interest savings account... Does anyone have any good recommendations for a good financial advisor / investment firm I can trust my money with?
I know a guy in Nigeria who could use that money and give you an incredible return on your investment!
You should do whatever you want to do with it...That being said, here's what I'd do... 1) Save for kids college 2) Spend it on the ladies 3) Take a trip to a place you never been and then put the rest in the bank...
In Houston, I've used Lance Roberts @ Wunderlich Securities for the last two years and I am very satisfied. He does a talk radio show on AM 650 at 4:07PM so he has to articulate his strategy everyday and back it up to all questions. He is basically a conservative, value investor interested in making average market gains and conserving capital. I use the percentage of portfolio fee which means all my transaction costs are included in the fee with the exceptions of option trades. The radio show site is: http://www.streettalklive.com/ It's has tons of free investment information. Or you can e-mail them at: Streettalk@wundernet.com
Pay off debts and save half the money. Use the other half to have fun. Take a kick-ass vacation or something. After all, you can't save forever. Good luck!
